lol.... This topic is worth at least a 'Deuce and a Quarter'
Good one Dave. A name that has lasted for about 70 years. Outlasted DeSoto Fire Dome, Dodge Red Ram and Chrysler Fire Power.....lest we forget poor Plymouth got left out of the Hemi until 1964. Not sure if I have this correct but I have always been a Chevy engine guy.....lolWell excuse Hemi !
Lets get back to start of this thread with a blown "W" motor sitting on a rail.......Here's the proper tri-power "Turbo-Thrust" 348 nested in a '58 Chevy body.
Interesting... I had an uncle who drove nothing but Buicks. I remember being in his big black '58, we passed a car and he said "have you ever gone a 100 MPH?" I said "no." He replied "Well, you just did".Wandering off topic again today. Not a 58 Chev, probably rarer than a C8 Z06 here we have...

I remember the first time I went 100 miles per hour. I was 17 driving my uncles 64 Plymouth Belvedere on a grid road.. I must have been totally crazy... I was definitely very lucky that nothing went wrong..Interesting... I had an uncle who drove nothing but Buicks. My next experience with silly speed was on my Kawasaki 500 triple. I was doing 110, changed lanes and felt the rear end skip on the paint line. That was enough of that nonsense for me.I remember the first time I went 100 miles per hour. I was 17 driving my uncles 64 Plymouth Belvedere on a grid road.. I must have been totally crazy... I remenber my first time hitting 100 MPH, '91 Cavalier with 3.1L hit 185 km and the governer kicked in...I thoughtI blew up the transmission, oh to be young and foolishMy next experience with silly speed was on my Kawasaki 500 triple. Hey Black were you there? I have fond memories of Pinecrest especially with my Herbrand tool supplier Jim Hallahan.Perhaps the most EPIC fight I have ever witnessed at a race track. Pinecrest Speedway, Toronto, Ontario. "Daytona" Don Biderman versus Jerry "The Bear" Makara.

We never had fights at the races I went to, but that was Biederman !!! Here's Bob. We raced "modifieds" at CNE also, but Jim Hallahan wasn't there when I was. Next year moved up to Super Modifieds with Joe Hlywka - that's a whole other story as well. Love those days which are just memories now, but fresh as yesterday.Yes I was there that night, Biderman slid over the roof of Makara's car got in through the back window opening and started kicking him in the head as Makara continued around the track with speed. Makara stopped his car on the start finish line and like the saying goes "all hell broke loose".
Jim Hallahan was a pretty competitive racer. He raced early at the CNE as I recall.
