Peace River N Da House - The arrival of Garry's VY 06 Z06

Good evening Manny, gentlemen,

Happy New Year to you all and here's hoping that 2013 will be at least as good as 2012 was for me and for us all.

1)5 years cancer free
2)buy C6 Z06
3)send above to Manny
4)get stomach surgery, lost 46 lb to date.

So 2013 has its work cut out for it if it is going to be a better year but a healthy dose of rwhp is going to go a long way!

I am so excited that the work has started and to getting updates as it progresses.

Hair, remember Manny, God only made so many perfect heads on the rest He had to put hair......!

Cheers,

Garry

Yeah Riley -- it's a pain in the you know what to keep copying and pasting the thumbs up info into the image icon to get a thumbs up. Can we get more icons including t's-up please.

Good afternoon,

Wow, I had no idea that the front bumper had to be removed! How interesting to watch this unfold as the project progresses.

Andrew's probably LHAO at my previous Snake Charmer install effort...............probably the only Z06 he's worked on that arrived at the shop with duct tape holding the part I'd cut out back in place.

Cheers,

Garry

hey garry, if it's good enough for nascar ......... what a shop, those stainless steel benches put most restaurants to shame !!! :coolgleam:

Good morning BH76,

Restaurants heck they would put most North American operating rooms to shame. It almost reminds me of the livestock barns where you have to put on sterile coveralls and booties before you can go inside so you don't bring any diseases or contaminents (cuts down on antibiotic use).

It certainly does inspire confidence though, if this level of attention is paid to keeping the work area organized then the projects themselves can only go all the more smoothly as a result.

Cheers,

Garry

Good morning SB,

Yes, that is probably a correct assessment of the situation. I doubt that I would have been so cavalier about sending the Z06 1/2 way across Canada without knowing that it was going to be in the best of hands. I mean part of it is actually the sense of adventure that comes from actually not having this done in-province but as well I am anticipating a certain degree of bragging rights by having a Dasilva prepped car compared to say Davenport or some other company having done the work. Doing it this way actually gives it a more "exotic" feel if you follow me.

I just hope that Manny has a nice front window decal for the car after the work is done. I know he has a nice engine one but given how infrequent the hood on this car is up I'd like to be able to show off to people at a glance why this car will probably be this area's fastest road machine!

Cheers,

Garry

Now what could be in that big box ?

A little touch of safety -IAT relocated

Hey!

I have a sort of weird driveway, I back down it so that I face the right way when I want to leave. But the snow has gotten deeper (it snowed 10 cm last night) and for the second time this winter I got off my track and buried the car. now I have really good winter tires so when I tried to get the car out I only succeed in getting it deeper, so much so that the drivers door couldnot be opened and I had to crawl out of the passenger door.

So I was sort of in a PO'ed mood. Thankfully dad had brought the snowblower tractor over to clean the snow away from the bag of grain we're getting ready to load into the rail car probably tomorrow so I fired it up and started to clean the snow out of hte yard again and then hooked a chain to one of the wheel rim spokes and gently pulled it forward about 18 inches and then I was able to drive it out.

What was Nissan thinking not to put any towing points that are easily accessable. None on the Z06 I can see but Sentra's do get driven in Canadian winters! Sort of reminds me of my New Beetle, same stupidity, no towing points..........you have to take one out of the trunk and remove a cover and screw it into place to give WV credit but the Sentra doesn't have anything and I'm scared if I go onto the front suspension of damaging the front bodywork............

So I just came back in, wet feet and all and now suddenly my grumpy mood just totally evaporated to see new pictures up from Manny!

And of course what post by me would be without one of my idiot questions. Today's is:

Why did you decide to move the Air Intake Temperature sensor? What is the safety issue?

I know there is probably a simple answer but if I don't ask I'll be wondering about this and I always think that if I'm curious about something maybe another reader might be as well but might not want to ask the question. For me I'd rather ask, appear the dummy but then at least learn something in the process!

Thanks for perking up my day Manny!

Can't wait to see the new rad installed either........I know there are legit reasons for going to a cooler thermostat too but I never liked that the car ran in the low 190's so I am very happy about this change as well. It used to sort of freak me out to be crusing in town, puttering along at 30 to 40 km/hr and have the engine coolent above 200.......nice to know those days are over!

Cheers,

Garry
