Cam, change the ZER to $575 please and add more tax!:canada: On a positive note for everyone who has a C8 now, your trade in's should also take a 10K plus jump in value with this pricing change!

Sold it!!! Before the market softened
Crap, are you serious, what soft market? Our cars just jumped in value 12K plus the tax. I hope you did a pass through deal through OAS dealership who your E-Ray deposit's with so you retain your sales tax credit for 12 months!

I covered myself yes, but I was referring to recently where dealers (aside from today's news) were not paying a bunch. I did well.

Only a dealership would see a positive for people who might look to sell their used C8's...for an additional $10,000...due to a new unparalleled 2024 MY price increase, whereas anyone looking to buy a new (full warranty with some new options) C8 Stingray will be stuck with that price increase and those of us looking to buy a 2024 Z06 or E-Ray are being demolished. And from now on, anyone looking to purchase a used 2024 will be looking at a MUCH higher, price. So this "good news" only applies to current owners of the 2020 to 2023 MY's (and then only to the tune of potentially $10K) and due to the reduced Canadian C8 allocations there are fewer 2023 and 2022 Canadian C8's out there, than there should be. But hey, when it's raining elephants, why not choose to ignore the elephant in the room (or some similar expression involving lemons...lol). :Banghead:

And I may be an "old timer" but I remember when the Canadian dollar not only matched the US dollar but actually exceeded its value for a short while, in the not too distant past. What happens to GM's "made for Canada" pricing should that happen again? And if you doubt that will ever happen again, just look at what's going on south of our border...

I'd say that GM is either short-sighted with this Canadian price increase due to poor planning, or (more likely given its army of bean counters and long-term strategic planning strategies), it's decided to abandon its Canadian market, one step at a time: reduce allocations by 50% or more (step one: check); increase price astronomically (step two: check); reduce allocations even further when Canadians are buying less C8's due to step two and fewer Canadians will notice or care (step three: yet to come); maintain the facade of a Canadian market by selling a few C8's into Canada while diverting them to other markets to gain better market share elsewhere, all the while maintaining its US market allocation percentage and base (final step: yet to come). And through all of this, try to spin a PR story to hopefully placate Canadians until the final step...:canada:

I say all this, while sitting here still in a state of shock, given what's happened with Canada's 2024 C8 pricing...soooooooo disappointing.

Hi Everyone, bad news on Canadian Pricing. When the US went up $1500-$2800, GM Canada decided to increase pricing massively $11,986 on Stingray coupes and $18,101 on the Z06. E-Ray pricing has been increased $10,031 since it was announced in January. US pricing went up $1395 + $200 for freight by comparison.
Here's what I have so far for base prices without $2300 freight which is up $5:
Stingray coupe $87,699
E-Ray coupe $138,799 2LZ $146,299 3LZ $153,799 ZER Package $575
Z06 Coupe $146,299
Stingray HTC $96,699
E-Ray HTC $147,799
Z06 HTC $155,299

Where is this officially published? This is complete bullshit if true. Anyone got an email contact we can hammer??

Paul, by tomorrow you can ask your dealer to check auto book on their computers.
I consult with my over 35 years of sources all over the world to try and answer the questions people ask as accurately as possible.
I am currently doing a deep dive into the numbers to try and create some logic to this and understand the increase and I think I know why.
But again, I am checking my sources to confirm my thoughts.

Not the best news ... especially for those have have saved to buy a C8. I'm starting to lean towards a Porsche. Although more money and the performance is comparable (911 Turbo or GT3) and if I can get an allocation within the next 24 months I may go this route. The C8 is an awesome car but the price is staring to get into the exotic super car stratosphere and I'm not sure how long I will hold onto the car so future value is a concern. I think the Porsche will hold its value better (maybe wishful thinking) than the C8.

One of the dealers I know said that GM found that many people bought C8 from Canada and sold them to the United States to earn the difference. This may be one of the reasons for the sharp price increase?
That is correct.
