New-"put your money where your mouth is" build!

This is what an 8 second C6 can sound like. Watch at about 2.10 into the video. The guy in the other lane would be so psyched out by the sound of the burnout sounds alone that he would have lost the race before it was even started. What a wild sounding outfit. First 8 Second C6Z06!!! PUMP GAS !!! - YouTube

That car actually-had no exhaust-look closely and you'll see. When they did the 4L80 conversion they found out the stock cat back would no longer fit.

The 4L80 is so wide that the factory tunnel needs to be cut and modified to make it fit. The same modification is need to the catback as well-that's why I still use the 4L60.

It for sure wasn't in street trim and certainly wouldn't fool anyone into thinking that it was stock. What I loved was the sound. Yours sounds excellent too and 160 mph. That's some serious hp. These LS engines have a whole different sound from the old sixties engines. The different firing order would have a little to do with it. They just sound extra mean and nasty when you lean on them whether stock or modified. That video is at least three years old and a lot has been learned since then. I think I would be confident in saying that you guys could come up with a very streetable car that could turn those times today. These LS engines are incredible. Power and durability are both plentiful.

You know what really surprises me? Do you remember the sound of the 5.0L mustangs from 87-95 with the 302 and a Flowmaster?

Some of the newer mod motors sound very similar to that sound today-that sound takes me back to my youth.

Not many people use the Flowmasters anymore.

Another great sounding exhaust is the 02-04 C5 Z06 exhaust. Add the by-pass mod to and it IMHO is one of the best sounding cat backs ever!

And another great thing about the C5Z06 exhuast is that it is so quiet on cruise-no interior drone-then when you hit it-watch out!

I'll see if we can get one for my car so we can do a dyno test to compare it agains the GHL's.

I had one experience with droning mufflers on an el Camino I put together. I never drove anything that annoying in my life. Had we not sold the car, those shiny stainless mufflers would have gone right in the scrap steel bin. For me, give me all the hp but keep the car sounding stock. I'd much rather have a quick car than a loud one. Sort of building the ultimate true sleeper. ;) There are/were some nasty sounding five litre Mustangs around the Peterborough area. Friends in the ONDR are running 347 stroker Ford engines with very good results. Around here, Joe Dasilva seems to have his name on several Mustangs. Your car is up 5 mph on the one I posted. If he can run 8.81, then yours definitely has a few more tenths hiding there.

The older I get, the more civilized I want it! Speaking of Joe Dasilva, years and years ago, Joe and Paul helped build me this car.

Alot of what I learned stems back from those days.

It's not cheap to do it right

This build includes

Torque plate honing of the cylinders
Line hone mains after doweling and pinning main caps
Square deck block surfaces 90* from main tunnel
Dowel pin main caps
Balancing
Hellfire rings
Speed Pro main
Speed Pro rod
Speed Pro HD babbit cam bearings
Wash, file fit rings, set all oil clearances, final assembly

With all the parts, new LS2 block, K1 billet rods, K1 4340 crank, Wiseco pistons, ARP main and head studs.

Total ends up an easy $5500.

There are alot cheaper alternatives out there but the fellow I deal with builds one engine at a time in a state of the art facility.

I only give out his name to a close friends-so he has time for my builds.

Don't forget-to add to this we still need a new LS2 front cover, valley cover, the kock sensor and cam harness, oil pump, timing chain, camshaft and lifters.

On top of this we have our Canadian Taxes to deal with and shipping to and from the US. There is no machine shop in Canada that I know of that can CNC the main caps and dowel them. This is not my first rodeo with the aluminum blocks and IMHO-pinning the caps is a MUST.

That's why when I sold my last engine combo from top to bottom for 10k-it was a STEAL!!!!!! That's why it sold so quick-there's gonna be one fast, fast car in Finland!

Arun,
I contacted you about that engine but decided I wanted the fun of doing the build. I have also spoken with Manny a few years ago when I did the first mods.
It definitly does get expensive when you start adding everything up. This summer I am coming for a drive down to see that nice new shop. You guys have a great thing going there and if it wasnt so far away I would have you guys working on my car.

Thank you for the kind words Jody.

Manny is planning on renting Toronto Motorsports Park this summer and we would love to see the fastest E-Force car come down and have some fun!!!!

We got one set of LSA heads on there way back after being CNC ported.

These were the before numbers-flowed at Forest and Forest in Ayr.

These are the after numbers.

.200 - 185 cfm / .200 - 129 cfm
.300 - 265 cfm / .300 - 175 cfm
.400 - 301 cfm / .400 - 207 cfm
.500 - 329 cfm / .500 - 230 cfm
.550 - 343 cfm / .550 -240 cfm
.600 - 348 cfm / .600 - 245 cfm
.650 - 353 cfm / .650 - 248 cfm
.700 - 355 cfm / .700 -250 cfm

We have another set being CNC'd for a Cadillac CTS-V as well.

FWIW-DasilvaMotorsports can get any GM LS head CNC ported and milled for your desired compression.

This is a great alternative if your on a budget-or building a "sleeper".:D

Some updates-almost all the parts are here so I started assembly this eve.

Got the cam in with single billet roller Billy Briggs ported oil pump.

Timing chain dampner installed

IWIS chain links

A look at my CNC LSA heads

ARP's on

LS9 gaskets on

Started torquing the heads with my new Armstrong Digital Torque wrench-not 100% sold on this yet.

1 heads is on

Tomorrow I'll bolt on the rockers and check or clearance for the 3/8's pushrods.
