New Lobbying presented for another ban on firearms.

There are video's all over youtube on how to do it. One guy did it in 20 minutes.

"Simple Mod to Convert AR-15 to Full Auto"

Obviously you didn't actually watch the video you posted and you also don't know much about firearms other than what you can stumble on through the internet or some other dark place, and you also only read from my post what you thought you could refute with a video of a guy taking a shower. Says something right there. Can I quote my post myself? Sure i can. " other than the AR platform which was under the restricted category and is now a banned weapon, it is extremely difficult and expensive to modify modern firearms into full autos."
Auto Sears were readily available for conversions in the US back in the 70's and are now illegal to purchase or sell, but I'm sure, along with the AR platform rifles (which include more than just the AR15) they could still be found in the US. But we are not the US and if the gear is being smuggled into Canada, well... that has nothing to do with legally owned firearms here.

As far as full automatic rifles are concerned, I do agree with you and the majority in that full auto firearms should not be in the hands of the non military or law enforcement people.

Obviously you didn't actually watch the video you posted.
Why do you say that? And there are more than one that show how easy it is.
and you also don't know much about firearms
I believe I know as much about them as you do. And whats this nonsense about him taking a shower? He is showing how to convert a semi to full auto.

You may think you know what video you posted but apparently not. Good grief.

PLEASE. Someone else click on timbo's AR 15 video link ....lol.... and watch it past the 60 second mark...Sort of substantiates much of what's been posted today...Lmao...

I have no idea why you found that funny. Both videos show how easy it is to convert a semi to full auto. And there are more, its not like those are the only 2.

I also take comfort that I am in the 70% majority who support banning handguns and the 80% majority who favour banning semi auto's.

You know sometimes the benefit of doubt has to be considered. Perhaps it is a technical glitch and what you see and what we see is entirely different. The first video you linked shows an AR 15 style "assault rifle" laying on a table then the host brings out tweezers, solder, blow torch and wire cutters. While waiting with bated breath for the mechanical side of the full auto conversion the host hops in the shower to clean up. Now thats funny. Sorry if you have no sense of humour.

"This is the firearm that the mass shooter in NS used. This is a Ruger Mini 14 semi auto."
Its on the list of banned weapons now for that exact reason.

"Semi automatic rifles still have a place in both my farm community, the competition sport shooter and the hunting population."
They dont now. Elections have consequences.

" ..followed it time by a ban on all guns."
Ah, the old slippery slope fallacy used by those against the ban of semi auto's in Canada. Get back to us when that actually happens pls. Liberals will not ban guns used for hunting. That would be political suicide.

Majority of Canadians support new gun ban but want feds to focus on smuggling: Ipsos | Globalnews.ca
"And while a third of Canadians believe the recent ban on 1,500 of those weapons goes too far, eight in 10 say they agree with the move and about 70 per cent believe all handguns should be prohibited as well.."

Seems I am in the comfortable majority.
So were the Germans in 1937. Majority has no monopoly on what is right vs wrong. The tyranny of the majority is justifiable totalitarianism.

And with that, I've wasted numerous minutes of breath watching your posts for no good reason except to get a laugh and verify that you are posting videos that aren't showing anyone modifying a gun to full auto. Try to completely watch and understand those videos and you will see my point.

Went back and watched the videos and wasted quite a few minutes at it although some did provide a laugh. Still didn't see how one would do the modification though. One of the videos did mention some of the methods which seem to involve a bit of fine machine work. Time to go read other threads.

On another note, 46 posts later and this thread has not turned violent or threatening. Keep that up guys.
I don't knopw about that Rruuff. SN is looking for a place to hang his leaf blower! LOL

The majority rules in Canada ..whether you think its right or not. Totalitarianism ..lol what nonsense.
As I've said twice already now, elections have consequences. That was part of the liberal platform and guess who has been running the govt for 6 years (and probably will be until 2025). They ran on it and they won. Deal with it.

80% of Canadians agree with the ban.

Go away.

So why do we have any laws? Why not get rid of all of them if criminals dont follow them?

That seems to be your logic. Wow.
What???? Not my logic at all. Your interpretation of what I indicated is warped at best. Laws are designed to keep people and property safe and keep society in a state of security. Criminals are criminals because they don't follow the laws. Getting rid of laws because a few decide they don't apply to them has nothing to do with getting rid of all the laws .... nonesense. There are numerous laws that are not followed for one reason or another yet hey exist. And the 80% majority you mention ... I wonder what percentage of the 80% actually has correct knowledge of firearms and in what area and by what source conducted the polling. I doubt it was done in western Canada.
