Guys are too generous.
Looks cloudy and the sensor may be sensitive. I get that in my 2015 Sierra on Cloudy Days. All I could do for now was black it out just to make sure its working ... otherwise I think I will risk a dash rattle if I want my dash taken apart ... I can surely understand the nuisance when headlights pop-up (other than be assured ... that they do pop up )... I think the sensor that detects the ambient light is hooped or maybe the small red globe that sits over top of the sensor is clouded out or something. My lights have rotated on and off probably 100 times since this morning. doubt its a big deal.
... this picture is funny, I pulled over twice thinking I had an engine bay fire or something. You know, a little bit cautious when you show up and drive a vehicle home 3000 km. Well I finally caught up to the cause of the smell. As in this photograph!
