Maybe not meeting in the Middle East but from East of the middle of Canada!

I notice that the current thread is organizing the run from the west to the middle. I was wondering if we wanted to start a thread so the folks coming from the east can start organizing the route so people know where and when to meet up as they make their way to Winnipeg. This way, the thread won't dive back and forth between the eastern route and western route.

Thoughts? How are those who are coming from the East planning on making your way to Winnipeg? Are you coming through Canada or dipping down through the States?

Hey Riley ... I adore the titled humour and hopefully it's not being bypassed as a novelty thread

may be consider a mod on the Title to "Meet in the Middle - East Caravans"
with hope of lighting a few fires for s'mores and chit-chat ....

I don't know ... as I would love to see those from the East at this Event
maybe just solo-runners ... who knows :Confused5:

Not sure. I imagine the 20 hour run from Toronto the Winnipeg is a bit to chew through. However, lots of great places to stop if going through the states, but one heck of a drive still. Hopefully as it gets closer, someone from the east will inform people of the time and date they are leaving to see if anyone else wishes to join. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and can’t wait to meet all the guys from the Manitoba Corvette Club who are gracious enough to host us.

Great initiative! While I'm going to participate in the National Corvette Caravan travelling down to Bowling Green in August 2019, a run to Winnipeg this summer is not in the cards - even though it would be great to return to the city where we lived 1992-96. I'll be looking for pictures post-gathering. Have fun, drive safe!

I have checked out the route from my place south east of Montreal. It would be a three day run to get there. Basically Montreal to Sudbury, Sudbury to Thunder Bay (appox1000K that day) and then T.B. to Winnipeg. It might be a bit shorter to cross in to the U.S. of A. at the Sault but not much. And then you get dinged on the exchange rate and cheap ethyl blended gas. All told it is an eight or nine day run depending on when you want to arrive and when you want to leave.
Maybe I could just keep going west and make the Mountain cruise later on as well. Could trip all the way back out west with the western guys.
Still considering this.

LE BARON. That's a splendid idea. I think most of us here in Alberta are considering the Meet in the Middle run all in as about 7 days so we are a bit shorter than you.

the Banff Jasper hiway is one of the top 10 drives in north American as rated by folks in the know
something to consider and stay in hinton on the north side of jasper nicer and way cheaper Jeff

I am very pleased to read your post. I agree the trip would be a long one but the idea of continuing out west to the beautiful mountain drives is a very worthy one and an experience in your Corvette that can only be done to fully appreciate. This is when you really know why you have a Corvette. The top off just makes it even better.
I’m fairly confident some western members would show you a great time and happily join you on a run through the Rockies as these guys have something going on in little groups all the time.
Look at a few of MikeysZ06 travel Alberta vids. Some great stuff there.

Hope to see you at MITM and escort you back West with the non club Gang.

Derek.

Sadly Derek I’ve deleted all the vids from this year. I have nothing on YouTube until this coming summer.
yup agreed - definitely our loss ... tried looking for them in the recent minus 30's days to help warm things up and change my grumpy hibernating mood ... my 2017 Corvette videos of Lake Louise and Drumheller helped but my conversations with myself in the car have to get a lot more interesting ... that's for sure.

Haha Spence ... I think everyone with the PDR has had the same moment. “Wow great video clip”...then... :Banghead:
Too bad the (oh my gods!) and other brilliant self comments not commentary make them useless for release.
I have not had one yet that was worth learning to edit audio. :Spit:

Mike seems to have overcome these obstacles in Corvette documentaryism... is that a word? Well it is now.

The commentary was great. Telling the stories of the places is a big part of what made the videos so interesting Mike.
Maybe get one in a strip bar... and do a few interviews

Ok maybe not...

Whoa.... wait a second Derek... Mike.. I think a strip bar interview is a great idea ... I can see you writing a documentary .... It could be the next best seller on President Oprah's 2020 book of the month club.... How about.... 'Perspective of a Peeler' 27 weeks on the best seller list and MikeysZ06 will be MikeysC8....
