Ice storm

Thanks guys.

Well muscles I never knew I had are aching, but it's a good feeling. Felt good enough to scrape ice off about 4/5s of the driveway, it's all good. :seeya:

There are still some people in Ancaster without power according to HydroOne, now that would be an ordeal.

Sounds like quite the event!!! We haven't had a really good winter storm in Saskatoon for about 6 years now. A few blizzards here and there but NOTHING like you guys get. Glad to hear things are getting back to normal and everyone was able to make it through.

Some have said this is the worst one ever. I can believe it after venturing out today to check up on Mom, I saw so many trees down .... wow.

Just got a text from a good friend of mine in Dundas...36 hours now without power and house is getting very cold. I hope they get it resolved soon. Lots of trees down he says. :(

Well I'm back in the land of the Lighted & the living (normally that is )...

Our power has been off for 48 hrs. Thank God for the Gas fireplace and Barbecue !
Have to go out now and retrieve our food from the snowbank in the back yard... Naaaaa , I'll leave it till morning ! ! :canada:

We lucked out, got lots of rain and iced for an hour or so early Sunday, then by 9 AM it was 6 deg C and sunny and the ice was melting fast and raining under all the trees, was really quite the sight. Stayed warm all afternoon got up to 8 deg C and the snow is all but gone....... Lake Erie saved us again! Drove to the GO station in Aldershot Sunday afternoon to pick up my son and it was a different world there only 1 hr drive from our house.

Glad some came out of it fairly unscathed. I was quite lucky too, but there are many who still don't have power and are being told to "make other arrangements for Christmas"......they'll get no power for a while yet. bummer.

Ancaster/Dundas is "supposed" to be all back by 8pm tonight, parts of Toronto may be after the weekend :(

Went into the village this morning, lots of branches placed at the side of the road and some significant damage to some beautiful old trees.

Good thing we got ours back or you would have had two extra guests Colin :)

My friend in Dundas got his back on around 7pm last night. He's got an awful mess of trees to clean up now.

What a weekend. My power was out for 2 days. Stayed at a friends 5 minutes away from me, he had power in his area--crazy stuff. Power came up early this morning. Came home and the house was like a meat locker..Ice box, it was 5 celsius :(. All is good now nice and toasty

Here in Omemee where the sum always shines, ;) it was a non event. About an inch of snow, 1/8" of ice then another couple or three inches of show. The snow blower waltzed through that bit of stuff and all was well. With weather, you usually get yours sooner or later so I had better be quiet while I am ahead. :o

No power for three days but the New Brunswick line crews fixed us up .:canada:

We have plenty of Generator power and had a fun Christmas and we had folks visiting from around the area to get warmed up and help empty my freezer :D

Come January 11th I'm out of here .
