Ice storm

Drove to Kitchener today and was shocked at the number of trees damaged by the ice once I got to about the village of Alma. Big cleanup ahead for many people.
Pretty bad isn't it Greg------ some peeps have their work cut out for them.
I wish them all luck and a better 2014.

We were without power for almost 4 days.
Thanks for the help of a Honda 3000 Generator and my electrician neighbour, We were able to get the furnice going, appliances working, a few lights and the TV for the Grandkids visiting from Vancouver. We made the best of it, and had some fun.
2013 will be a Christmas to remember.

Back on topic. That is absolutely insane! We got our first winter storm yesterday in quite a long time. Lots of snow with 45km/h winds gusting to 65 km/h. Actually, the wind just blew the snow along and only made some good sized drifts behind stationary objects. It really wasn't that big of a deal and isn't nearly as bad as an ice storm! Wow!
