The transducer appears to be in need of replacement. A transducer that I found is very expensive!

I am trying to obtain an adapter to connect the speedometer cable from the transmission to the speedometer cable from the dash and bypass the transducer? Any help would be appreciated.

Transducers were not cheap even back in the day that they were still used; cant think they would have changed in pricing since. As for the adapter, you may want to check your cable lengths and possibly replace one of the cables with that of an earlier year - many (like my 75) were two piece cables and the lower one had the end attached that would thread on to the upper.
