my '92 seems like they have a will of there own. they turn off and on in the daylight. any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like a problem with DRL's . If you go :

The Corvette GadgetMan: All

He has an inexpensive fix, that allows you to control the lights and not the sensor .
