Gm recall re. Rear hatch

A little heads up .

There is a news report of a recall to repair the rear hatch on some 2011/12 corvettes.

Thanks Manny -- I'll be on the horn on Tuesday to see if mine is affected.
In the meantime if my hatch does something strange I'll know why...

from info posted on a certain forum in another country,[g],

coupes manufactured between 24 jan 2011 and 1 sept 2011 are under the
alert; distributed in both Canada and the USA.

Yep it sure does help. I'm in that group -- mine being produced in May - 2011.

I know what they'll say at the dealership -- that they've got no notification yet -- I'll have to wait for my "letter" from GM.
I'll call anyway to confirm.

according to the GM global connect printout I received,[ remember, mine is 'used' ],
build date was 16 nov. '10; pdi was 18 nov. Interestingly, the warranties began on
29 dec. '10.
So....I ought to be ok !!!
