C8 heated seats are very weak, but heater steering wheel gets super hotI don't think I could own a car without heated seats!

Unpopular opinion, but I thought exactly as you did when I ordered my first C8. 1LT with Z51 and Mag Ride. Red interior. Only option I ever missed was Blind Spot Detection (should be standard). Similar to you, I thought the 2LT red interior was ‘too much red’. And Z51 with MR is a must. I greatly enjoyed that car!For me, the Z51 was never out. It was more of 1LT Z51 vs 2LT Z51.
But I guess it depends how you drive... I take full advantage of the tires, brakes, LSD and exhaust.
There's also a bunch of visual things that also makes the Z51 more interesting. Also, I took the red seats but 2LT adds too much red in the interior for my taste.
Thank you for your donation to Federal Programs!I’m going to be paying close to $21,000 in taxes.![]()
I’m happy I got my allocation for the ERay, but I just learned, a few days ago, that not only is the GST in Alberta, Canada will cost me +$8100, but luxury tax is over +$12,700. I guess I don’t watch the news to know that I’m going to be paying close to $21,000 in taxes.![]()
Yep. Way low. 20 percent on any dollar over 100k up to 200k. Plus tax... a 200k car is over 250kIt seems low to me.
You may want to double-check those rates.
Combined taxes on a fully loaded E-Ray (without a trade-in) are well in excess of $40,000.00 in Ontario.
Alberta does not have any provincial sales tax that is why there is a big difference. It seems low to me.

That reminds me. You’re right. No PST and GST. That’s where I save some money. Thanks. These replies were starting to make me nervous. I thought we locked in 98% of what it would cost me. Now I know I’m still good. Within a budget.Alberta does not have any provincial sales tax that is why there is a big difference.
I live in Quebec and that is definitely the reason I got the mag ride!I see you are from QC, mag ride is a must for those roads. I went to Trois-Rivières last weekend in the C8 and it was good to be able to smooth out the ride.
I tend to agree with the others, prob better to shave cost by dropping Z51 instead of 2LT.
In the end it’s your car so spec it as you want.
No matter what, you will enjoy it.
I got my allocation May last year, it was in my driveway by Aug 1st so you will get lots of drive time this year.
Congratulations. ! Front camera is very useful but not necessary if you’re careful/observent while parking. Difference between 1LT and 2LT is now just under 10 k . Used to be 7k . Blind spot detector would be better if it sensed a bit further back but it does help. If you put on your turn signal when it is detecting a vehicle in your blind spot it gives an audible tone to warn you if you didn’t happen to notice the yellow warning light in the side mirror. But , the thing that is really good is the rear cross traffic alert . 90 feet each direction and works really well. Saved me a couple of times already. The HUD is very cool as well. I now find myself looking for it when I get in my 2008 truck, lol .Finally got my car last week. White 1LT, Z51 with mag ride. There's more value in the Z51 for me vs 2LT since GM decided to add safety features to the 1LT packages.
After a week owning the car and about 350km, the only thing I would need from the 2LT is the blind side detector. You really have to push the passenger side mirror out, so there no blind spot.
IMO, I don't think there's 12.5K worth of features in the 2LT (memory/cool/heat seats, 4 speakers, HUD, thief thing, front camera and blind side detector).
