Elections Canada - Please Read post Number 1

I think the debate will be telling.
Is there going to be a French language debate ? I think Carny refused the invitation to the TVA proposal although they wanted the participants to pay a $75,000 fee which the Tories offered to pony up for the Liberals. Just found this…
The Canadian federal election debates for 2025 are scheduled to take place on April 16 and 17. The French-language debate will be held on April 16 at 8 p.m. EDT, moderated by Patrice Roy, while the English-language debate will occur on April 17 at 7 p.m. EDT, moderated by Steve Paikin. Both debates will be hosted at the Maison de Radio-Canada in Montreal.

There is . My phone will translate any of I believe 35 different languages realtime during phone conversations. It really is very impressive. Fantastic for travel or obviously anytime you have to speak to a non English speaker. I’ve tried it with a Spanish friend who said that it is bang on and the delay is very minimal. This is on a Samsung s24 ultra. And the electronic voice doesn’t sound like R2D2 ….now , if only it could tell you which party would do the best job over the next 4 years…..

Conclusion

The Liberal Party is presently best positioned to lead Canada, driven by Carney’s leadership, strategic gains in Quebec/Ontario, and collapsing support for left-of-center rivals. However, softer voter commitment and a divisive geopolitical climate introduce uncertainty. The Conservatives remain competitive but face challenges in broadening their appeal beyond core demographics.

Not fair. You said ask Perplexity not the PMO , lol .

Thanks for the link but I’m afraid I couldn’t finish reading it as it was too depressing , lol . Actually I did try it as well but with somewhat different wording of the question and got a very generic response. Just a brief synopsis of each parties main promises.

Determining which party would do the best job over the next four years in the Canadian election is subjective and depends on individual priorities. Here’s a brief overview of the major parties’ platforms:
• Liberal Party: Led by Mark Carney, they focus on economic growth, reducing income taxes, and increasing housing supply. They also aim to strengthen CBC/Radio-Canada funding.
• Conservative Party: Under Pierre Poilievre, they propose tax cuts, eliminating the carbon tax, and fast-tracking resource projects. They also suggest changes in immigration policies.
• New Democratic Party (NDP): Jagmeet Singh’s NDP emphasizes affordable housing, retrofitting homes, and supporting Canadian-made vehicles.
• Bloc Québécois: Focuses on Quebec’s interests, though specific policy details are less detailed in recent sources.
Ultimately, the best party depends on voters’ priorities regarding economic policies, environmental issues, and regional interests.

Interesting.... 1st Vette's perplexity answer is actually the most objective, while Murray's tends to lean towards which party is leading in the polls so more likely to win
Like PP it's artificial intelligence! ;)
