DRIVING THIS SUMMER

All true and agree... except today's mortality rate is sitting 3.4%... As long as myself and my family/friends/CCF buddies and the guy I buy my bourbon from are not in the potential 1.24 million people in Canada that will die, all good.... Ouch!
No, it's not. It's much lower than that. And the US "Covid Team" is counting ANYONE who died of anything, and who happened to be infected with Covid, as a "Covid death." Very dishonest.

Government response to issues is mostly reactive. If there are too many vehicle accidents that are reported to be driving without purpose, the jurisdiction with authority will initiate enforcement. If the roads fill up with Sunday drivers and the 'over protected' element of society, most of whom do not own cars, registers their concern via calls to 311, then enforcement will start. Be safe and discreet on those secondary roads my friends. Sunday is looking like a great driving day here in Eastern Ontario and a couple of hundred kilometres are in order on the new acquisition.

Here's a few World numbers as submitted to the World Health Organization today... Perhaps they are just part of the giant US conspiracy as well... Food for thought? NOT!

Spain 10%
Italy 12.6%
France 9.6%
Iran 6.1%
UK 11.7%
Belgium 9.6%
Netherlands 10.9%
Indonesia 8.1%
Algeria 13%

Oh yeah.... US 3.4%...Perhaps they are the only ones actually being honest....

Snowing in Southern Ontario this morning … Went for a few boots around town Monday and Tuesday, but here in Welland there a lot of COVIDIOTS … bumper to bumper in town -- Guess they all wanted a peak at the vette LOL!

Well with this pandemic, it will definitely weed out the couples that get along or not ,luckily I am not in the negative category. I Here the rise in domestic disputes between couples is hitting there all time high, and unfortunately the poor kids are also involved. In my opinion we need more than ever to get our hands on the wheel, and get out for a good drive in our vettes;). Great stress relief.

Amen to that. And the stress, cabin fever will get worse in the weeks to come.

Unfortunately we have an overzealous cop who had an argument with the better half just before the shift. 🚔When he sees that Vette on the road not abiding by the 'strong recommendation' of his government, he will send us home with a receipt for a contribution to the government coffers. But he probably won't pick on the silver Santa Fe! :)

Oh no its starting, if I feel the need to go for a drive to relieve some boredom and stress, I'm going to put a few non perishable groceries in a bag and put it in the trunk, just in case I get pulled over, was just doing a little shopping. But I do get the reason why they do not want a lot of vehicles on the streets, in case of accidents etc. and your right about having a corvette, as opposed to a Sant Fe. They surely will pull over the vette first. We do stand out, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that , Heard yesterday that with the minimal amount of driving the government wants us to do, the insurance companies are supposed to or may give us about a 10 percent discount on our premiums. I am with CAA and I am pretty sure they are. Not a lot, but better than nothing.

My wife need to go to Shopper Drug Mart yesterday so we took a short drive there. I happened to be out of bourbon and the LCBO is beside Shoppers. So I thought I will pick up a bottle while she is in the drug store. Saw the lineup to the LCBO and thought I am not standing in line for an hour or more just to get a bottle. Didn't know we had that many alcoholics in town. One guy was standing there with a cane waiting near the end of the line. No one was letting him cut in. Every man for himself these days. So later that night I had a coke & coke for a drink. LOL.

Rookie mistake. You would think its your first pandemic. Never let your bourbon stash be below 3 full bottles. Wine is a minimum of six bottles. Beer is 24 cans. Misc liquor as required. We are disappointed in you.....

I had three bottle a couple of weeks ago. LOL. My wife is smarter. She ordered 4 boxes of white and 4 boxes of red online a month ago. I said Jesus how long do you think we have to stay inside? She just smiled and said it would keep a long time. Damn her. :Banghead:

I have 30 beer and three 1.75 litre bottles of Woodfords left.... I will be making a run Tuesday for sure... Not a wine drinker so the 8 bottles I have will do years if I don't have company...

Ontario 's "Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act"...............my nephew is a RCMP and he referred me to this.

This is interesting.......7.0.2. (4) 2.

I guess that it would give them the authority to limit/regulate motorcycles or even pleasure driving our Corvettes !
Nothing like legalese to dull the mind.
"1. The actions authorized by an order shall be exercised in a manner which, consistent with the objectives of the order, limits their intrusiveness. "
One might argue that it is "intrusive" for them to stop you while you are addressing concerns for your mental health.
On another topic, I measured from the front of the splitter to the seat and it is approx. 10' so we are OK there for physical distancing. And presuming we will not run our front ends up somebody's rear end (please, no perverted comments here - although I am tempted myself) there is even more distancing so they can't complain on that issue. Motorcycles though? Better watch your distance and keep off the other guy's rear end. LOL

Tell me about it. My wife has worked in the legal bizz for many years. With lawyers and crown attorneys . Amazing how much she can retain without looking it up. But at least working for the Attorney General has its benefits. Got me out of my last ticket just because she was in the passengers seat while we were out for a drive and I wasn't watching my speed closely. Could have been $400.00 and 4 points, but she knew the cop. So he gave me stern warning to slow the $%^#@ down. LOL.

The luck I have been having lately I should stay at home. might have posted the first incidence on here but I bought my wife a new Honda CRV-L about a month ago before things got worse and the second day she had it I went to the beer store to get some beer. Wasn't in the store 10 minutes and when I came out there was a big scuff mark on the from bumper where some idiot cut the corner to sharp and left a hell of a scratch on the drivers side from bumper. So pretty pissed at that. Don't think we had 10 kilometres on it. Then last week after staying in for over a week we went to get a few groceries. Hardly any traffic on the road except for this big dump truck coming towards me. Sure enough he tossed up a huge rock and smashed the windshield. Both times I was driving. Think I might be grounded from using her car. The windshield is being replaced tomorrow. There goes a quick $500.00 deductible or more. Not sure if that includes the camera install and calibrate. Things like this make me just want to write off this year. If my Vette ever gets made I will be afraid to take it out of the garage. Grrrr.:angry-argh:
