Was great to meet more Corvette owners and had a fantastic weekend at the show - huge thanks to Grant for putting it on! The included passes, lunches and dinner were amazing, as was the Friday night effort by everyone on base to get the cars indoors overnight. Need to download my wife's pictures and the others from our camera and post them up later.

Got home last night from a really great weekend. Everything from Thursday night at the A&W to late Sunday afternoon when I finally drug myself away, it was a fantastic time. The dinner was delicious too.
Met some great folks and saw some beautiful cars. The Airshow was excellent too. Static displays were very impressive. The Raptor in the air does things that seem to defy physics. And LOUD!
Thanks to Grant, Spence and all the hard working Volunteers for putting in this epic event. The military folks treated us like gold. I really enjoyed chatting with theses guys and gals. Represented the real Canada so well.
The Snowbirds; well they always leave you a bit choked up and proud to be Canadian. Epic as always.
A few moments of rain sure didn’t dampen the spirits of this group.
This event was A+

We were parked outside the hanger. Spillover cars due to the excellent turnout and variety of great cars. Inside was full of great classics and some modern beauties. Oddly enough I was so busy looking I didn’t take a picture. :Woohoo::banghead: For sure there will be some posted up by someone.

Sandy and I left Cold Lake this morning. We had an amazing time hanging out with all the western folks!

We are now in Saskatoon for the night. I will be dropping Sandy at the airport in the morning and heading home on my own.I am going to need lots of coffee and loud tunes to stay alert.
It was nice meeting you and Sandy. Hope your trip home goes well. Until next time. CHEERS.:canada:

That is one cool trike. Too bad you didn't get a side pic of it. Nice pics Derek.
Too bad there were spots remaining from the date Corvettes could grab them all …
otherwise the trike may not have been there ....
I managed to see the trike from the side and it was awesome 👍🏻

Departed from Cold Lake the morning after wrapping up the Event.
A Huge success … I am proud to say that I have been told "The Corvettes are Welcome Back in 2020 …"
To be welcome back was truly my mandate by volunteering with the Event at the Air Base.

We found a route pretty much all to ourselves from Ashmont to Hanna.
Highway 36 - Veterans Memorial Highway.
Although it was not a “Route 66” we took our time
remained in formation with cruise control set at 106kph which I knew equated to 66mph.
We had a 1 hour tour in Drumheller before heading West.
Skirted a storm cell and entered Calgary from behind it (avoided loonie sized hail ).
My Long Beach Red 5500km over 12 days journey (MITM - USA GTTS Road - Cold Lake) is complete …

Here's a couple of shots that I took from the 2018 Cold Lake Air Show this past weekend before leaving on Sunday.

The first one is the CT-155 Hawk. This one is painted in the 75th anniversary markings from two years ago to commemorate the squadron being stood up in WWII and it is painted in the same colours as the Halifax and Lancaster bombers the squadron flew during WWII.

The second is a full scale fiberglass replica of the Hawker Hurricane fighter that was used during the Battle of Britain at the start of WWII.
