Wow people. After the $30 donation by canadianvetster, there's been a small avalanche of additional donations:

-$ 50 sam9158;
-$100 Cariboocreek;
-$ 50 Sturmgewehr;
-$ 100 LE BARON;
-$250 2020C8#49 (wow wow!!);
-$ 50 DCV1;
-$ 30 Dave91TM.
_____

$680 total

Fabulous (!!!) and my thanks to each and everyone of you, plus all the others who donated on this thread beforehand. Those initial donations totalled $225...which meant I was looking for another $255 to achieve my goal. However due to the great response, it's been $680 or $455 MORE than I was trying to get. Having been caught up in the spirit, I've decided to match all the $680...just please don't tell my spouse! LOL: she looks after our finances so there's no hope in hell she'll not find out (oh well; the weather here has turned milder today, so the doghouse won't be as cold the next few nights...and besides, it's for a great cause!). Thanks again to everyone! But hey, don't stop there; let's guarantee the Forums prosper for the next few years; keep 'em coming!!

Wow. You guys are nuts. In all seriousness I and CCF is deeply appreciative of this gesture and it goes a long way to keeping this community thriving not to mention paying the bills. Thank you very much to all for your contributions and support.

At the end of the day this is your community and I'm very honoured to play a small part in it. I've yet to come across another forum where something like this would happen quite so spontaneously so count myself very lucky to bear witness.

Bonus perk, item 132 when you type in Guys Nuts in an AI image generator. Many results were omitted.

since I never met any of you in person yet, could you tell me which one is Jack in that picture ?

Full disclosure, no I didn't donate $600.
OK I've now matched the Afterimage donation. Full disclosure: it's my last match, because I'm in danger of going broke or getting divorced (or both) if I continue to match all donations...however I simply had to match this last one, since Afterimage included Jack's $4.80 with his donation (lol). But don't let that deter anyone: keep up those donations, everyone who's yet to pitch in! Keep up that Courageous Canadian Financing (go CCF GO!!).

Not sure where to post this, so I'll do it here in the hopes it gets more attention. I'll ask the moderators relocate it as deemed appropriate.

I'm always a firm believer in "putting my money where my mouth is", such as tipping where the service was great...or donating to things I see as worthwhile. Given the time I spend on these CCF Forums, the good info I obtain and continue to obtain, plus the "Web friendships" I've made with fellow-Corvette owners, I see CCF as deserving of donations. In a world where nothing is free nor should we expect it to be free, especially for things we use, appreciate and benefit from, I encourage everyone else to donate to CCF so we keep it running and in a more concrete way, provide our thanks to all the organizers, moderators and others who generously volunteer their time to run the joint.

With that in mind, my challenge is this:

-I'll match whatever anyone donates to CCF by the end of this month, as long as your donation is a minimum of $25 (the cost of a good burger, shake and fries), up to a maximum of $480 (that will bring my donation total to an even $1,000)
-simply make a donation (see the "donate" section on the right of the home page...it's super easy) then post on this thread you've done so, and I'll match it up to my limit
-I'm hoping this results in CCF getting far more than the $480 X2
-if you've not already donated, now's the time. Or if you've already donated but feel you could do more, now's the time. And if you share my view of these Forums, this should be a no-brainer. I suspect for many, the good advice obtained on these Forums, has saved you a lot more than just $25...
-I understand the funds are needed for bandwidth and other expenses associated with running internet Forums such as this
-note: this is my idea and no one else has suggested this challenge, so for you "cynics" out there (you know who you are), rest easy: this isn't a contrived set-up but rather a sincere effort to thank those behind the scenes and support the future development of these Forums.

And for those of you "lurkers" who often check out CCF but have yet to join, I encourage you to become a part of this and contribute your knowledge and advice, plus ask questions to more readily directly benefit from the community (and eventually, when you realize it's deserved, donate as well).

Now over to you...
$50 done, thanks for taking the initiative!!

I tossed some coin in for this donation blitz + a little extra to cover our favorite rodent above. Your welcome Jack I saved you from the pastries.

Thanks for having my back @Afterimage. Most people just try to beat me with a stick, lock me into a dumpster or call Animal Control on me...

No racoons were harmed in the making of this photograph.....

That's correct..."tale tellers" say they all lost their "tails" after swimming in a Fort McMurray toxic "tailings-pond" and lived to tell the "tale" afterwards, but when asked to ID which pond and where, they all remained silent, refusing to be "tattle-tales" and none wanted to revisit their "tail-less" "tale of woe". But some think this is just a made-in-Alberta "tall-tale". Still others believe they're all dead; any who survived the swim later died while chasing their "tails"...or is that simply another "fairy-tale"??? Only Jack Raccoon knows the truth and he's not one to tell "tales" out-of-school about his relatives, preferring to live up to the raccoon's secretive keep-to-itself reputation. But again, maybe all this is just an "old-wives tale"????? Stay tuned and in the meantime, watch for "tell-tale" signs that may provide the answers.

Wondering if this was/is the tail-end of that tale or are there more tales to come about those tails?
