Cat back install

Cost was $2000-2100 CAD installed 2021. No, I would not ever say that I noticed any HP or TQ increase. I wish I could get a drive by vid. The gunfire cracks and downshift burbles are unique. @Gilles27 can attest. Yes, I would do it again...
Thanks. I’m sure it adds a lot. Kind like watching a movie with a big surround sound system as opposed to TV speakers. I would love to put a blower and exhaust on mine but not in the budget I’m afraid but a setup like you have definitely is . Thanks.

I can't remember your build. Do you have NPP or Z51? The first thing I'd do if I could would be to lower the car. I have front lift so it makes it difficult. I'd never replace my NPP exhaust. I actually really like it. I hate "gunfire cracks and downshift burbles" personally.

Yes, I know, I know - a very large part of the Corvette community loves the 'noise'.
Without a rehashing of the whole E-Ray vs Z06 argument, there is obviously a huge after-market out there for 'tuned' exhaust.
Personally, I don't get it, and my Wife probably wouldn't even ride along if our car had "gunfire cracks and downshift burbles".
"Scrap it a$$hole", is usually her response to anyone we come across entertaining themselves by unneccessarily revving the crap out of their car.
That said, you know you are a perfect candidate for a modified exhaust sytem when;
  • You have a favourite viaduct to drive through.
  • You anxiously await someone at 'cars and coffee' to say "Gentlemen, start your engines".
  • You honestly believe, and will argue profusely, that a few more hp justifies the expense.
  • You start your car, then quickly glance around to see if anyone noticed.
  • You downshift gears just for the 'noise'.
  • You find neutral and rev your car at virtually every stop.
  • The enjoyment of your daily commute is gauged by the availability of 0 to 100 to 0 opportunities.
  • You can't wait for your car to cool down, just to get that 'cold-start' feeling all over again.
  • Your car is described by your neighbours as "a bit much".
  • You allow the first car in line at a stoplight sufficient space ahead when leaving, just so that you will have room to gun yours.
  • Any conversations regarding your car, be it with friends or total strangers, ultimately involves "Just listen to this!".
If you see yourself in any of these depictions, but haven't actually made that committment, get shopping (Canadian, if at all possible).
Hope to see/hear you out there soon.

And if you don't "see yourself in any of these depictions", stay on the couch watching soap operas while you learn to knit.

Did you have a tune as well? A gain of +/- 20 HP on a 495 HP car is pretty marginal to notice behind the wheel but the sound improvement, especially on a C8 which is relatively quiet compared to the stock performance exhaust on my C7 would be a great improvement.

I don’t have Z-51 but I do have the “ performance “ exhaust, front lift and mag ride. Don’t think I would want it lower anyway. I don’t drive it in a way that the possible added downforce would make a difference anyway. Then there is the issue of changing the suspension geometry. And , not all of our roads are super smooth. The stock exhaust sounds OK , but a bit more rumble, not necessarily snap crackle and pop would be nice. This one isn’t too bad, thing is there are so many choices out there now. This one isn’t too offensive, very reasonable in tour mode.

Lowering a Z51 a bit doesn't require suspension geometry adjustments, but since neither of us have it then forget about it. lol

That's very thoughtful, Jack.
Thank you so much.
Don't get me wrong - as you can see, my Wife is not adverse to buying 'mods'.
It's not a mod! Geezuz! Don't get him started! LOL

This is the one I bought. The 21100. It has all the adjustments that we have stock.
