Canadian E-Ray stats

Why does that make you sad? The incredible sound of the Z06's engine is a sound I have lusted for since I was a little kid. I would be more than happy to pay extra for it!
"Sad"may be a bit over the top.
In reality, I don't have any vested interest in what you drive.
Enjoy your 'noise'.
On a side note, I do find it odd that you "lusted" (?) for the 'noise' since you were a kid - I thought this appeal to the senses was a recent thing, relative to the new engine, no?

As many of you have gathered, I'm an E-Ray fan.
That said, there is simply no denying the allure (to some) of the 'noise' of the Z06, which got me to contemplating on just how powerful the senses are to prospective buyers.
I am pleased to announce that I am on the brink of a new aftermarket product for the E-Ray, which hopefully will finally guarantee it the true status it deserves.
It's in the form of an aerosol, and smells of burnt rubber, to be sprayed out your window whenever leaving a set of traffic lights.
Help is close at hand guys.

Please don't be offended of our views. There is nothing wrong with the Eray but the price itself imho.
The Z06 is lighter and for the fact that the Eray falls flat on it face past 130 mph is the other factor. Most of us don't drive at those speed but bragging rights do worth something when I make my decision for a sport car.
That is why a Z06 and Eray are more attractive then a 911 Carrera S at the same price point. Performance rule even if we don't have the ability to extract 100% of its capabilities.
Enjoy what you desire to drive and you shouldn't care of what other peoples think.

Some drive a Stingray, some drive an Eray, and some drive a Z06, all good choices.

When I was young my two favorite cars were the Lamborghini Countach and the Ferrari Testarossa. I had giant posters of both on my bedroom wall. Whenever I saw one in a movie (Cannonball Run) or a TV show(Miami Vice) the sound of the 12 cylinder engine wailing and screaming was like music to my ears. I dreamt of one day owning an exotic car like that but new I would have to be rich to ever make my dream come true.

The introduction of the Mid Engine C8 with its exotic car looks and base price in the $70k range in 2020 was my ticket to finally realize my dream. When they then introduced the Z06 with its flat plane crank and 8600rpm redline I was over the moon that I could one day own a reasonable facsimile of the dream I once had for that screaming exotic.

I think the eray is a fantastic car and for most buyers its more than enough car...for me and my childhood dreams there is no other choice. Since I'm not a millionaire and wont ever be able to own a Ferrari or Lamborghini the Z06 is my only shot and in a few years hopefully I will have a used one in my drive way and I will enjoy the "noise" every chance I get.

For the z06, it is not all about the noise....The noise is just a by-product (a good one at that). It is about how the engine responds to your input and the way it delivers the power. The surge of power as the RPM increases. Not to bash on OHV engines, GM's small blocks are fantastic for what it is. But it is hard to replicate the feeling of a DOHC flat plane crank engine even with electrification.

Sorry, but i'm not buying it.
Perhaps the reason I don't get it is that under my normal driving, I don't tend to be at 4,000 plus rpm.
It's the 'noise'.

Depends on the kind of music you enjoy, the Z06 "noise" is like that song that comes on the radio and you instantly turn up the volume but this glorious symphony plays every time you start the car

To me the ERAY it's not only overpriced but also if hardly anyone wants these new what will resale be like

I read on Facebook last night were an owner believed he had one of only 50 E-Rays in Canada. Truth is there has already been 158 of them sent to Canada with more to come.
The interesting thing here that I haven't seen before is Canada receiving a 15% allocation of a new model Corvette . Final allocations for Canada were 5.94% in the 2023 model year for the other models.
Not all of these cars are sold, but dealers are taking the allocations that they have been given to prevent losing subsequent allocations.

Actually Darrell, as a fan of the car, I was trying to determine how much more interest there would be if it was more of a mid priced model? From some of the responses here, it seems as I thought and as I expected, if the car had a starting price give or take 20K less than it is, there would be more interest? I had a call about another E-Ray allocation this week and lots of people saw the post on here but the response is crickets-none! E-Rays are sitting unsold and have been ordered for dealer stock for some time now. I know a number of people who have gone from the Z06 back to the Stingray because it's to fast, loud, and choppy not to mention the worse fuel economy. Would those people have looked at an E-Ray instead if it started at 123K instead of 139K? That was my question to the group due to the lack of interest.
I suppose an used Eray at $125k ish would be a very attractive buy in the near future? However, if no one is buying them new, there will be less on the used market? :)
There may be more interest if the dealerships have to clear their inventories at a steep discount?

You may be onto something.
A buyer's choice could very well be dependent on the type of music they enjoy.
However, the fact you choose Rock over Classical, doesn't automatically render an electric guitar as being more valuable than a violin.

As for resale value, it's anyone's guess, right?
Perhaps by the time I sell mine (or more likely, my heirs do), it will be a collectable.

Bottom line is that if you truly believe the E-Ray is overpriced, don't buy one.
Latch onto that Z06 - it's a beautiful car.
Follow the herd, embrace the hype, and above all else, enjoy the 'noise'.
Logic has left the building.

Driving for me is a visceral experience so Z06 will always be the more appealing car than ERAY

Since when does logic influence a toy purchase, unless you're Jack Raccoon chances are these cars aren't your year round daily

Back to the original post I'm glad GM gives us many Corvette choices but ERAY is in a tough spot when right out of the gate demand is low

Sounds like some one is trying to justify their purchase more then anything else... :) If you want your sports car to drive like a comfortable daily driver with some speed then I completely get why one would purchase an Eray. If this is your fun car, then why not get something that is actually exciting to drive even when you are not doing triple the speed limit.

True enough, for the most part.
In my case, there was definitely a lack of logical thought behind buying a Corvette in the first place.
While I have absolutely no regrets, it did fall under the category of 'wants' vs 'needs' (quite like my Harley, neatly tucked away yearning to be driven).
I did, however, explore in great depths the variants available, and it was through a highly logical argument (with myself mainly) that I ended up with an E-Ray.
I would welcome an argument, logically based, on the merits of a Z06 over an E-Ray, but alas, they are few and far between.
What I find curious is that the steadfast enthusiasts of the Z06 seem unwilling, or unable, to present their reasoning, finding it 'easier' instead to just downplay the E-Ray - Why?

By the way, where is Jack?
I've never met the man yet his absenteeism has left a void in the forum.

Jack and I just raced our cars at a half mile event in Quebec on the weekend, he will be posting again today he told me

I would say if we are having a logical conversation about the merits the Z06 has over the Eray (other than subjective ones like sound or looks) the Z06 is about 300 lbs lighter which makes it faster and better handling around a race track ( about 7 seconds and 10mph slower on the straight at VIR).

Other than that there is no real "logical" reason to choose the Z06 over the Eray but when does logic come into play when buying a $170,000 plus car that fits only two people, carries limited amount of cargo and uses a high HP thirsty V8?

If we used logic to choose a car we would all be driving the cheapest most fuel efficient, roomy vehicle on the market … and what kind of fun would that be?

Thank you.
I've always stated that for anyone who does a substantial amount of tracking (not me), the Z06 is the ticket.

The reason the ERay didn't gain traction is due to GM's unceremonious withdrawal of @CamsC8 ERay Ambassadorship. His promise of a Social Media Influencer was never realized. Even @WRPDRIVE has more subs...

Second was the untimely departure of Marisa West, and her unfollowing of @Gilles27 on Facebook...

The ERay does have an appeal, just not to me. I was behind Gilles at Maniwaki this past weekend when we were drying out the airstrip. His car sounds incredible and pulls hard from me. My Stingray sounds like a dump truck that back fires. It also is geared poorly. Half way through 4th it struggles to pull. When I shifted to 5th, I might as well flipped the paddle to 8th...

But whatever, everyone makes a choice and does it for themselves. Just don't tell me Jake Floor Mats are a "Mod" lol...

Jack is back. Be careful what you wish for lol...

Bahaha...I wonder if Jack bent over when Murray attached the ankle bracelet...

E-Ray seems to be a dud and I saw it and appropriately moved to a Z06 which landed me in Jack's sin bin of sorts. Oh well no more GMs for me even though I made up 10% of their annual sales volumes from 2020 to 2024. The E-Ray would be superb if it were priced closer to that of the Stingray because looking at the deal offered up today...both the E-Ray and Z06 are DOUBLE that of a Stingray or close to.

GM will need to do something with the E-Ray and Z06s because those too are now sitting on lots and one can easily do a search to see what's out there in Ontario alone. Currently:

Z06:
1LZ - 6
2LZ - 24
3LZ - 23

E-Ray:
1LZ - 6
2LZ - 22
3LZ - 22
