C8 First Oil change

Made an appt yesterday at Sadlon's to get my 1st (free) oil change at months end before it goes away for the winter, and the Service Tech tried to tell me I had to get the DCT Filter changed on my 1st oil change or I'd have to pay for it....After about 4 emails back and forth, explaining that I have 2 years to get the free DCT Filter changed out and that I'll have it done this time next year when I get my 2nd free oil change done (should be close to 12K by then), and once I attached the Service bulletin that all Dealers rec'd explaining this, she finally got it....Frustrating.....
Which service bulletin did you show the tech? According to the Home Office Letter letter posted above, the free DCT filter is only with the first change (even though it doesn't make sense for the majority of owners). But good for you for getting it with the second one, I'm hoping to do the same.

see attached.....Good thing for this chat site, otherwise we'd all get screwed as the Dealers don't know much, or at least pretend not too.....

I wish I had seen this a year and a half ago. Oh well. 10,300 is close enough to 12,000 in my books

yeah, sorry, just stumbled across this the other day while searching the site....Dealers (especially Service Depts) need to stop trying to take advantage of people (at least that how it feels) She definitely wanted me to get the DCT changed now (only having 4000 km's on the car), knowing I'll need to get another one at 12,000 Km, thus the Dealer gets the $$$ for both.....Another + for the Chat site!!!

I went through the same thing at my dealer last year. My final free O.C. & DCT service is tomorrow. Shows you have C7 but I do notice a nice white C8.

Well, now I feel vindicated! (Edit: It was also the PDF you posted butsy)
From GM Tech Link
"GM has extended maintenance coverage of the filter (Fig. 3) to two years or 7,500 miles (12,000 km), whichever comes first, on the first filter change to cover vehicles that do not accumulate 7,500 miles in the first year. It is recommended to only replace the filter at the required maintenance intervals due to the loading characteristics of the filter."

this attachment is old and outdated (issued Nov 2022), but now I understand why Dealers try and push the DCT filter change with the 1st Oil change as this is what the letter states....but the update issued in Oct 2023 clearly states that you have to get the DCT filter changed within the 1st 2 years and not necessarily during the 1st oil change....

It's not outdated. It is valid for that particular MY, at that time and has revisions. Note the "Number". That doc is rev 2. There might be revs after 2 or there might not. It doesn't mean the doc is necessarily outdated. The other doc is for use after October 2023.

BTW, if you have it, why not post it instead of just stating it. I don't have it. I'll save it for future requests.
