Changing battery in 65 Coupe non BB:AC.
What battery size fits best.amazingly took
20 minutes or so to remove . Car built around battery! Had a spare battery around but it is a touch higher., please recommend
A easy fit. Took out hold down and repainted tray and area.

Hi Vince,
I don't have an AC car but I can share my battery dimension info for comparison and hopefully that will be helpful to you.
All C2s used Group 24 size batteries. I still have (for reasons unknown even to myself!) the old Delco E5000 R59 that came with my car. I just measured it at 6 3/4 x 10 1/4 x 8 tall, so I'm assuming that was the size for OEM batteries. When I replaced the battery years ago, I chose to go with an Optima Red Top which which measures 6 3/4 x 10 x 6 3/4, more than 1 inch shorter than the Delco. It also has higher CA and CCA, sealed so easier to tilt for installation or removal without fear of acid leak, plus comes with a removable handle for easier manipulation. Also has adapters for tie down.
