Why is the C4 not that desirable?
There are a lot of C4's out there and their owners love them. As WPGZ06 said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and any Corvette is still a Corvette and will make you smile. A C4 (other than the ZR1) is likely the most affordable model to purchase as the C3 shark is a desirable body style by many. On the other side is the C5 which was developed with the hydroformed frame and the rear transaxle which did wonders for the ride smoothness and handling with the equal weight distribution, and also eliminated a lot of squeaks and rattles. Of course, the older you go, the more things that may pop up over time to be fixed and sometimes parts are getting harder to find every year that passes. That all being said, if you love the C4, go for it. No one is ever sorry owning a Vette.

Had my C4 for 15 years. Cost wise they are the lowest valued, but that just means you can get a corvette grin for less.
They are not perfect, but you won't find many flaws unless you want to push it to ten tenths. As with most vettes the later years are usually the better ones, for example the "Christmas tree" dash was gone as of 1990. You can still do a lot of work on them yourself
and parts are easy to find. There is a ton for info on line and you can easily review recommendations/problems etc etc. This forum is also an excellent source of info . Good Luck.
