Agreed F is more accurate than C. If you have ever sat in a hot tub you can tell the difference between 103 and 104 F, much better system.

We got about a foot of snow last night, finally had to shovel the roof off, must have been 36" of snow on it, metric would not have made it any easier to shovel off!!!

Had a tractor with a blower on it come in to move the banks back for us, just no where to put the snow. Tiring day. I have taken to leaving the computer open on the Kubota Tractor website, my wife says "why is that site alway on there". Hoping she will get the message, diesel powered snow blower. Perfect.

About 8 inches here overnight and now the snow squalls are picking up. Blizzard warning out for our area. Snowbank at the end of my lane is close to 6 feet high!

In my line of work, all automotive is measured in metric, but most aerospace is measured in imperial.
I'm comfortable with either. When building projects at home I prefer imperial.
With Temperature I prefer the C scale. Food measurements I use metric.
I guess this is the only time in life, I go both ways.:canada:

well mark, it also appears that you and i both prefer imperial weight measure though. from one ful-ton to another. :D

-16 her with a -27 wind chill. The winds are wicked and visibility in town is very poor. Just got back from driving my wife to work...only thing on the streets were other 4wd's and tractors blowing snow. All roads in area are closed. Looks like we got more snow than the night before. It's a good old fashioned Grey/Bruce winter this year.

Minus 18 in Haliburton this morning. Some very strong wind gusts. It is a winter wonderland for sure. We have been coming here since 1977, this may be the most snow I can recall in all those years.

Can only imagine what it is like over in the Owen Sound area with all those direct lake effect snow squalls.

Be safe out there folks.

every year during cold snaps like we have been having the house sure makes some wild noises. sometimes you'd swear the damn place was gonna fly apart at any moment. i'm used to it but it still scares the bejeezus outta helen  now i hear people referring to this as "frost quakes" folks in the country take this as a normal part of a cold winter. listening to the lake rumble and grumble is pretty neat. :D

Makes the kids think someone is in the house and upsets them.....

At -11 last night there were some at that temp -- It's "brass monkey" weather out there right now..... The weird thing is it's going up to +3 on Saturday.....
What a swing in temps!

Yes, I see they're calling for rain most of the weekend here. I don't like that with all this snow here. :(
