billy bob and the trooper.

Ya, power windows were a must have once they became mainstream. Like auto headlights, Ford probably still offers them only as an option! ;)
Standards of living change as we experience luxuries and then absolutely can't do without them... I remember when practically no one had air conditioning in their vehicles... cruise control.. heated steering wheel and seats, rain sensing wipers, adaptive cruise, lane warning and auto centering control....Alexa or Siri or Gemini to chat with while you are driving.... lol.... I'm to the point now if a new vehicle doesn't have all the toys, I won't buy it....

Ya, My duster had no power steering, no power brakes. No A/C , but it did come with a heater! ;)
I ordered pulse wipes with my '81 Citation, but the idjet salesman didn't add it ot the order. I added an aftermarket option to it and my Dad's Buick Skyhawk.

What bugs me is that a current auto review will be mostly about the connectivity and gizmos with very little about driving characteristics. So when it craps out, you can sit and use to your I pad while you wait for a tow.

Ya beat me to that one.....I figure they're gonna make you subscribe to the engine (or battery pack/drive motors or ???) after a year or two or upon warranty expiry in the near future.
Another reason to avoid BMW IMHO ..... they even tried to have you pay a subscription to use the factory installed heated seats ! That and " nice cars " post #1901 , lol. As for batteries, Tesla already does that , charging to unlock full range and full power . Society in general is being milked like a cow at every turn by Big Business. And it's getting worse all the time. Rampant greed , plain and simple.

Mine had both....... Wish I still had it.... Autotrader has a few for sale... Actually some decent prices for a collector car...
