A bit early on the calendar but pretty cool nonetheless.

In Canada, CA$3,795.00 in 1967 would be equivalent to CA$33,326.05 in 2024, an absolute change of CA$29,531.05 and a cumulative change of 778.16% or roughly a down payment on a new one. Conversely if you had a mint 427 67 now you might be able to trade it even for a new one and by that it would appear a corvette is a good investment.

I'm sure you Corvette guys know all this, but I found it interesting.

In 1963 only 199 Z06 Corvettes were produced, usually intended for racing, and of the 199 total six were built specifically for Le Mans racing by Chevrolet. One of six 1963 Z06 Sting Rays built in late 1962 to race at Riverside on October 13, 1962. They were destined to compete in a different type of racing for sports cars, a NASCAR- sanctioned event at the famed Daytona Oval, the Daytona 250 – American Challenge Cup. This means the cars need to be set up for a different set of rules, just as for large Grand National stock cars. The chassis was extensively modified and an experimental 427 cu in (7,000 cc) engine was installed. The car was lightened in every possible way and weighed over 2,800 lb (1,300 kg). Further preparations were made by Mickey Thompson. Among other changes, Thompson replaced the Z06 "Big Tank" fiberglass tank with a larger 50 US gal (189.3 L; 41.6 imp gal) metal tank. Driven by Junior Johnson, interrupted by rain in the race, stunt driver Billy Krause finished third behind Paul Goldsmith's Pontiac Tempest and AJ Foyt in the other Corvette.
