Beauty

Peter you have kindly shared those pics with me in the past but I thought since they are yours it should be up to you to post them or not. I thank you for sharing them, evolution of a very successful race car.

I wonder if the Karbelt truck was selling parts etc. at the track?
Murray, I never knew any of the Karbelt haulers or sponsored race cars to sell parts at the race tracks. Maybe we were all too busy working on our race cars to notice though. George Foote, owner of Karbelt Speed and Custom, interest was to promote his speed shop. Proof of that was his expansion to Pickering and Montreal due to his winning race car exposure and popularity.

Just a little FYI for those who were out of the early speed equipment loop regarding Karbelt.

Karbelt Speed & Custom was founded in a basement on Bay Street in Toronto in March 1952 by George and Lois Foote as KAR-BELT. It started with distributing seat belts. Those were the days before seat belts were standard equipment but eventually George began offering other automotive parts.

In 1961, the name was changed to Karbelt Speed & Custom, Inc., when he moved (I think - cannot really remember) to Yonge Street. He became the first company in Canada to offer independent retail sales of performance parts.

That's all I'm saying and I'll let this thread get back on topic before the moderators get me........lol

I think it might be a P4 but not really sure. It, in my mind, is a stunning automobile. Somebody will know!

I would trade my Husqvarna lawn tractor and Corvette for it.

Scotty T wonders what he should do to update this one. His dads car. My suggestion would be to just leave it as it. It is indeed a beauty.View attachment 10583
It's like going into a time machine to relive the tire squealin' 60's... :) If it ain't broke - don't fix it...
