Good question... I will have a friend from Brazil with me so likely it will be an early morning shoot from YEG to YYC to meet up with the gang for the launch.
My friend is very excited to see the Rocky Mountains and ride in a Corvette. Heā€™s a great guy and speaks better English than me. šŸ˜‚
I hope we are not too much of a handful for them šŸ˜‚.
But seriously... and without expectations, I am truly looking forward to what the day has to offer.
šŸ‘šŸ»Thx Mike

Youā€™ll have to go topless once we get on the 1A. His neck will be too sore looking up in no time.

Sitting around during the Jays game I decided on some take out. Well,I ended up doing a little bit of the planned cruise and took some mileage notes instead. Anyway, this is what Iā€™ve noted down. I only went as far as the Kananaskis travel centre/Stoney Nakoda casino. From there to Highwood pass is approx 80 kms.

From the departure point at Bowfort road McDonaldā€™s/Petro Canada to the Morley turnoff is 46.4 kms

From the Morley turnoff to the 1A is 3.5 kms.

From the 1A to the 1X is 21 kms.

From the 1X to the Casino is 5.0 kms.

As we leave Calgary, not 10 seconds into the journey weā€™ll be blessed with a splendid view of the Nenshi Towers. Feel free to take your own picture as Iā€™ve yet to see a postcard showing this bit of ā€œmoney well spentā€. It really is something that youā€™ll scratch your head over. This is on the return trip. Our meeting place is in the background.

Hereā€™s a little teaser on the 1A from an old long since torn down gas station to just about the turnoff for the 1X.

Hereā€™s a little drive around in the travel centre lot and the casino.

Im in the works right now planning an alberta trip starting Aug 11 or 12th, and not sure when ill stop but the 17th looks like an interesting cruise. I will talk with my navigator but im interested in joining your group for this little adventure
Sounds good James. Would love to have you and your wife come along.

What I mean by videos Jim is Iā€™d probably get some walk around video at the stops and post them for the rest of the forum. Particularly the Upper Lake lot if we choose to stop there.

Lots of time before the next cruisers meeting August 7. Iā€™m going to talk to Wayne later today about the route. Ive got 2 options in mind and again will put that up for comments.

Again Jim,cruise day will be August 17 so thatā€™s a few days before your Kentucky departure. And of course your wife would be welcome.
Mikey

This sounds like a fun time. Lynn and I would be interested in. Cruisers meeting is August 7 at Shaganappi Chev is this correct and what time.

Thanks
Wayne B.

Thanks Wayne for your interest. Would be great if both you and Lynn can make it.

As for the meeting,it will be held at Shaganappi August 7 at 6pm. Wayne will be sending out an email this coming week I hope. I might venture up there shortly and see if heā€™s around and give him a poke. Everyone usually just meets outside the showroom around the first Vette that shows up. Last month @Cariboocreek was the muster point.

Iā€™m going to edit in an ā€œpeople interestedā€ list and will put you on it for now. Again, thank you for considering coming.

Taxpayer equipment too risky for it. Otherwise everyone will want one for their wedding, births, deaths and perhaps even announcing that they just got a Corvette ... šŸ˜‚
So I can definitely see the ā€œrejectedā€ on the request form.

Pretty cool still even if just in the yard ... if the truck mirror wasnā€™t in the way of the wheel ... one could always photoshop it on the side of a road šŸ˜‚

Iā€™ll wander in again next week and ask him. We have too much drama going on with a couple of guys on the mid day shift for him to do the paperwork.

Must be lots of decent size earthworks/pipe/paving contractors down there that routinely do contracts for the city... Bet they have lots of programmable signs sitting around....lol
