Anyone Else Fascinated By Old Locomotives?

No idea what is going on here but lots of interest in this passing train.

Thought this photo might stir some memories for the Toronto area folks. I think this picture was probably taken in the early 1950's (resident truck experts may know the year of the highway tractor) of the rail yards in downtown Toronto. That is the Royal York Hotel in the background which is right across the street from Toronto's Union Station. Lots of cars in this pic but I cannot see one locomotive. It may have been possible that steam locomotives were still being used at this time.

Just park it in the alley...The Southwest Chief Chicago to LA unless you are going the other way! Amtrak still runs it today.

I follow a number of rail cams and the BC Rail Locos are occasionally still seen running around on a number of lines.

Great pic Graham, that is a Norfolk Southern Loco attached to the BC Rail unit.
