Page 189 of the 2023 Owner's Manual says this about vehicle break-in:
Starting and Operating New Vehicle Break-In
Follow these recommended guidelines during the first 2 414 km (1,500 mi) of driving this vehicle. Parts have a break-in period and performance will be better in the long run. During the first 800 km (500 mi), engine torque will be limited in low gears. For the first 322 km (200 mi): . To break in new tires, drive at moderate speeds and avoid hard cornering. . New brake linings also need a break-in period. Avoid making hard stops. This is recommended every time brake linings are replaced. For the first 800 km (500 mi): . Avoid full throttle starts and abrupt stops. . Do not exceed 4000 rpm. . Avoid driving at any one constant speed, fast or slow, including the use of cruise control. . Avoid downshifting to brake or slow the vehicle when the engine speed will exceed 4000 rpm. . Do not let the engine labor. Never lug the engine. This rule applies at all times, not just during the break-in period. For the first 2 414 km (1,500 mi): . Do not participate in track events, sport driving schools, or similar activities. Check engine oil with every refueling and add if necessary. Oil and fuel consumption may be higher than normal.
My question is whether drag racing would be considered a "track event" or "similar activity", requiring you to have just over 2,400 km before GM wants you to do it. You may want to ask GM that question (?). I'd hate to get into a warranty debate if something breaks during a drag race.

All C8 made after Jan. 1/23 are forced to take 3 yrs. of onstar + you get 36 months / 72 gb. data plan which ever comes first. I think its a extra $ 300.00 extra like it or not

So you waited over 3 years to receive your car, and we have lived through ever painful post of your journey. Now the first thing you want to do is, beat the phuck out of it on the Drag Strip?! You can't expect GM to cover any related issues nor can you expect any sympathy if and when something fails. Either you accept the risks or just drive and enjoy...

City driving is worst than drag racing, unless you do burn outs, all the time. The C8 because the motor is in the back, you don't have to warm up the tires, really.
