Advice 1/4 mile

I have decided for myself that 11 seconds per 1/4 mile run is not worth the abuse/risk on a $100,000 car that can't be easily replaced, and that I have already decided I will be trading in for next C8

Denis, I've had my car almost 3 years and I still haven't launched it yet...

You started the thread bro. If you don't want to hear comments that you might not agree with, don't ask randoms on the Internet. Grow up, put your big boy pants on and figure it out...
Are we susceptible? I was asking a question. I don't get why you are upset? I did mention, I drag race all my cars. As for my last answer, it was just a saying/ joke. Anyway have a great evening.

Personally, I cannot imagine taking my car onto any track.
I would be mortified if I ever damaged it, warranty coverage or not.
I've worked damn hard to be in a position where I can afford one of these - I'm not going to mess it up by pushing it to the 'extremes'.
I will be that guy in the E-Ray that you pull up beside at the lights, revving your engine a few times, and leaving in your rear view mirror.
To make matters worse, I will probably switch it to stealth mode, just so I too can enjoy the sounds and smells of your performance and spent rubber.
If that 'need for speed' gets too overwhelming, I'll rent something exotic on my next Vegas trip.

I get it. I have seen a few at Napierville and it is totally safe with compound. I like hearing those backfires in Z mode. I always take off hard, without abuse, for now.

... because the motor is in the back, you don't have to warm up the tires, really.
Really? I disagree. Tire performance is impacted by tire temperature, which in turn affects tire air pressure. You think F1 cars and Top Fuel dragsters don't need to warm up their tires because they have mid engines? Yes more weight over the rear tires helps with traction, but the tires are no where near their peak performance until at proper temperatures.

Any tire spin at all launching off the line will really affect your time. Limiting that spin as much as you can makes a big difference. Now, if you're concerned about sacrificing rubber and don't mind turning in an 11.7 when you could be turning an 11.3, then just go out and have fun and don't warm the tires up.

I witnessed a C8 drag racing and he got an 11.17 with no warm up and a 11 . 22 with a burn out. Yes it could be a lot of factors but this is what I saw.

No burnout, and I blew past the black vet in the near lane......it seemed like he took forever putting "heat" in his tires......I was getting annoyed waiting.....
(my daughter caught it on her camera).

I do not care about the rubber ;) ,I already have a set of drag radials in my garage, after I have tried with this vehicle full stock. First runs will be full stock, then drag radials then add a cold air intake , then cat back and then , if allowed a computer tune. GM has said the 2024 or 25 will have a significant hp. boost. I want that boost.

GM didn't say anything about significant HP boost for 2024 or 2025

Your time?
I did 3 passes.
First one was 18+.
My excuse(s).......I'd only owned the car about 27 hours. I scrambled in the box to get my helmet on.....1st time IN a cage with a helmet, and it threw me off. I was also spinning the rears for more than half track (M7). I didn't have a clue wtf was going on.
Next one (in the video) was either 11.36 or 11.56.
