A Sucker Punch From Your Neighbour/Friend?

I know this will irritate some, but I don't see an issue with keeping guns if they are kept safe in a safe and are registered. For most people there is (was?) no need for them, but sport shooting or shooting for food is quite a reasonable use for them. I certainly hope there is no need for them for any other reasons (orange ape reasons, that is).
Only restricted and prohibited firearms require registration. Safe storage is a requirement.

Not even Nostradamus has a clue as to what “ Brown Eyes “ is going to start raving about next……thankfully there are ammo options by the look of this…Perplexity of course. Nice thing about them is they have foot notes linking to the source of their answers unlike most AI search.
Most ammunition is manufactured in several key regions and countries:
1. United States: The U.S. is a major producer, with companies like General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems playing significant roles.
2. Europe: Countries such as Germany, France, and the Czech Republic are significant producers. Companies like MEN Germany and Sellier & Bellot Czech Republic are prominent in the industry.
3. Brazil: CBC Global Ammunition, which includes CBC Brazil, is another major player in the global ammunition market.
Nostradamus went down in history for his predictions. There is a long list of things the prophet put to pen that would happen in the next 2000 years. Personally I think he had too much time on his hands.

Sounds familiar! ;)

That's cool, but I see no reason for all firearms not to need registration. It hurts no one.
Google the millions that the taxpayers spent trying to implement it. Don't forget the millions in cost overruns and computer program failures. To benefit who and what? Let's see. Thousands of law abiding sportsmen (and women) maybe? Nope. No benefit to them to spend their money registering hunting rifles; Crime fighting? Nope. Unfortunately criminals were typically smart enough to ignore mandatory firearm registration; Bleeding heart anti gun eastern lobbyists who feel there's no need for anyone except police that should own guns? Ok, you got me there. It was a squeaky wheel grease program that almost worked until government got pushed back when the Liberals threatened to take all hand guns away from us.
Do something about crime instead of wasting money pissing off honest people. Punish criminals instead of slapping hands and wondering a month down the road why the hand slap didn't work and innocent people are dead now because of it. But no. The status quo is find some feeble excuse to set criminals free to keep right on doing what they do best.
And now we have an insane potus that would like nothing better that to ruin our country so he can come in and claim it and our oil, gas, minerals, water, lumber and everything else as his own. And when they march across the border, hack into our government documents, and immediately know where and who owns firearms and might use them against them, they will know exactly where to go to squash us.
Thanks, but my firearms have never been registered, never will and when the US invades, like most of the people in the west, we will do our part for Canada to make as many of them as possible damn sorry they came. :Pistolsmiley:

And if that offends anyone, I'd apologize if I was actually sorry.

Ya, I agree it would be impossible, but I meant there is no logical reason why it would be bad for anyone. Take Britain for example.. With their strict gun laws there murder rate is much lower than the U.S. and much lower by gun. I do agree that we should resolve the source of crime and violence. That should be first and foremost.

Exactly my point…. ;)

Their big problem since they did restrict guns is now knives. Don’t need a gun to intimidate or kill somebody. And knives are silent. Apparently it’s very common for criminals to be using them. Can’t win .

Murder rates are way less too. I didn't check violence rates, but It's a lot harder to murder with a knife.

Murder rates in the UK are significantly lower than in the United States. The UK’s intentional homicide rate is about 1.17 per 100,000 people, ranking it much lower globally compared to the U.S., which has a rate of approximately 4.7 per 100,000. This disparity is also reflected in specific cities; for example, London’s homicide rate is lower than that of major U.S. cities like Baltimore, Detroit, and Chicago. The U.S. has one of the highest homicide rates among developed countries, with firearms being a major factor in many homicides.
Are knives frequently used in crimes in the United Kingdom
Yes, knives are frequently used in crimes in the United Kingdom. Knife crime has been a growing concern, with reported incidents increasing significantly over the past decade. In 2023/2024, there were approximately 50,500 offences involving sharp instruments in England and Wales. London has the highest rate of serious knife crimes, followed by areas like Cleveland and South Yorkshire. The rise in knife crime is attributed to various factors, including social deprivation and youth involvement. Despite some decreases in certain areas, knife crime remains a major issue across the UK.

It's actually quite a testament considering how dense the population is in large British cities.

I’ll bet that the almost China level of public surveillance cameras has a lot to do with it. It’s apparently almost like that series “ Person of Interest “ . Which at one time I wouldn’t have agreed with but in this day and age if it cuts crime and violence and saves lives it’s hard to argue.

Switzerland has a relatively high gun ownership rate, with estimates suggesting around 27.6 guns per 100 residents, but it also has a low homicide rate, which is often attributed to a strong culture of civic responsibility and effective gun regulations
