5th Annual Ponoka Meet and Greet

We could set up a meet at the Wendy's (right across from Tim Horton's) directly off the second exit in Airdrie for all the Calgary area folks who want to convoy before Red Deer, even.

The weather in early May thru the mountains is probably not fit for a Corvette so I may have to come by train...!

I'm pretty sure it's been said that the Job of Weather Forecasting is the same as Throwing Hand Grenades and/or Horseshoes where you only need to be close to still get paid.
Accuweather.com on Feb 28th has the forecast in Ponoka on May 6th as "warmer with partial sunshine, high 17C, low 4C" ... rather encouraging 2 months in advance :)
... otherwise we charter a car-carrier on that train ;) ... as it also says possible snow/rain earlier in the week ... yoikes!

Weather in Alberta is always a crapshoot anyway. I have scraped frost off my windows in the morning on the way to a car show where in the afternoon I got a sunburn. I have driven from +10 degrees at my house to snow at a car show (at the end of May), and as a motorcycle rider I have seen snow in every single month of the year in this province.

Accuweather has a 50% chance of being right about what the weather will be like tomorrow, let alone two months from now.

I, however, have a Corvette (and a Murphy on my back), which means that if I travel more than 150km to get to a location, it will likely precipitate at some point along the way.

Trust me. Bring a sweater, and hope you don't have to use it. lol.

Awesome! our 5th annual...
It will be good to see you all again. This time I will actually make the whole cruise without some thing going wrong... lol

Woohoo Hezzy. We were sort of counting on you for a blue sky though.... lol.... sorry.... couldn't resist that one....
Will be great to see that sweet Stingray on the road for the long haul...

Hey Paul, Alberta, Crazy2B, Riley, Jordy, Rick9456, N20Vette, Kmillar, and everyone else I'm missing or can't remember your names, and/or whoever wants to meet up on May 6th and run to the Ponoka meet together with us, we are tentatively meeting at the Gas Alley East side A and DubU for eggers and coffee at 9:00 am. Hope to see you all on the 6th and set a new attendance record for the boys and girls again in Ponoka this year. Don, Bruce, Hezzy and Rainey put on a great meet and if at all possible, it's not to be missed.
Sounds good to me

Good stuff... The parking at that location is big and open compared to the in-town spot we were at last year...

It's stuff like this that makes for a great reason for me to convince someone when I do need the budget relaxed to buy that upgraded hand held device with an even larger screen eh ! :WillyNilly:

Listen SN-III don't be slagging my Commodore 64. I just upgraded it to work at lightning speed with my dial up connection. Damn dogs keep eating the cord.

Since I left work I have never had an electronic "hand held" device so any screen would be larger than I have.

... I think I owe you an apology ... can I offer you a "hot beverage" (as Sheldon from Big Bang Theory would say) lol
