3 More Sleeps

I’ve been doing a bit of an experiment. I have observed over the years that most people are creatures of habit and also tend to conform to societal norms. So , I have been parking with the yellow line or white line that delineates a parking space directly under the middle of the car taking up slightly less than half of two adjacent parking spaces. It seems invariably that the next drivers to come along park fully between the lines of the spaces to either side of mine . So far 100% . Obviously won’t work in a very full lot but if you can find three open go for it. Human nature can indeed be fascinating.
Yes, and then everyone else that pulls in says "who the hell does that idiot think he is that he needs two spaces to park, A$$***e.

Followed by an OOPS did I bump into his door with the rivet on my jeans?

I just park as far away as possible and in inconvenient spots like by a Light pole where others don't like to park beside. I also observe human nature.

Great insight and oh so true .... however if I did that here in Etobicoke ... some lunatic would probably be waiting for me with a baseball bat ... after working on my car he would beautify me

No matter what I'm driving I always park in the extreme nose bleeds ... for 2 reasons ... like you said previously ... most people are on the lazy side and need to be 10 feet from the entrance ... and 2 helps me work on my n.e.a.t. ... for those that dont know what that is ... non exercise accumulated totals ;)

I'v seen a few times some poor mother trying to keep one or 2 kids in line with one hand and the other is carrying a couple of grocery bags ... she walks up to her car and tries to open the door and bang pounds into the guy beside her ... by accident .... cant even half blame her ... but I try not to become one of her victims

Costco parking lots are a bit better as they have the double spaced line between spots ... but everywhere else ... super tight

Any way ... have a great long weekend all ....:Cheers2:

For sure it’s always a crap shoot but all you can do is access each situation and try to make the right choice. Much like life. When I go to a big box or grocery store for example I do the same as you. At hotels or motels I always try to book a ground floor room on the parking lot side and park right in front of the room if possible. If you really wanted to get carried away you could snap a photo of the plates of the vehicle on each side of you . Find a ding at least you have that much information for what ever good it would do. Enjoy the long weekend .

I will quite often park that way but in a crowded lot, I sometimes worry that some turd may take offence and key my Vette. More often I do like Murray and find a spot well away from where people want to park. Even then, I will sometimes come out and the area will still be empty except for a Prius or some such car that found it necessary to park right beside me... Go figure... This is how I use to park at my office. There are a few perks when you are the Manager... lol...

It’s like going to a restaurant and sitting on the far side away from everyone for some privacy and within ten minutes every table around you is full. Or go to the movies and do the same thing and the next thing you know you’ve got a Beehive hairdo right in front of you.
