GM hasn't finished testing the ZR1 and it will be another year before one arrives here in Canada. Nor have the bean counters sat down to figure out the costs on the car and what they will charge for it. For those that have deposits and think that they will be able to get an allocation I will give you what I estimate based on looking back at pricing for previous generations ZR1's.
The base price of the 2025 ZR1 without freight, dealer fees, or yet to be announced price increases for 2025 in Canada should start at:
Coupe 1LZ base price $191,099 CDN
HTC 1LZ base price $200,199 CDN

I think GM will do with it what they did initially with the C8 keeping it under the $60,000 mark, ... guessing just under $200,000, so $199,000 CAN. Taxes and upgrades will easily hit over $250,000, ouch!

Sounds like you agree with me.

For anyone serious about buying this car, I don't think it being priced at $200,000.00, or at $250,000.00 (or more) is going to be the deciding factor.
In reality, if it's a unique car you're looking for, and have the resouces to buy it, the more it costs, the less that will be around, right?
If this was only a money issue, or to get from point 'A' to point 'B', you would be better off buying a Malibu, plus a Silverado, plus a Camaro.

The ZR1 will not have a base price for a 1LZ, $100,000 more than the Z06. Didn't happen with C4, C6 or C7 ZR1's and won't with C8!
And C4, C6, C7, C7 Z06's did not have a $60,000 price difference from the base Stingray to Z06. I think base price starts at $240,00 looking at historical data is irrelevant with the C8. The C8 ZR1 is game changer and Chevy knows they can charge whatever they want cause the demand exceeds supply. MSRP and base prices are irrelevant as 90% of dealers can easily sell these for 100-150k over just like how C8 Z06's were in 2023. Chevy also knows dealers can easily sell at marked up prices so why sell their own vehicles at a lower price and give dealers more profit. At the end of the day talking MSRP, dealer market adjustment pricing, etc is pointless cause this vehicle will be super hard to get for the average joe. Usually dealership owners, management, longtime customers, etc only get these ZR1's.

Base 1LZ Coupe $229,999

Previous generation ZR1's where more muscle car than the C8 ZR1 supercar category

With the demand slowing dramatically towards the 2024, will GM reconsider what they will charge for the ZR1? Especially in Canada with that Federal Fund added to the price. It is as good as can be for the economy/stock market, and things will change for the worse in the near future when the ZR1 finally starting to show up at the dealerships. How many deep pockets will pay $300k+ for a semi mass production car? This is not a Ford GT with limited production?

GM should price them as high as they think the market will bear ... after all they designed and manufactured it and it carries the Chevy/Corvette badge ...not the branding of some criminal stealership around the corner...
Any " dealership " selling over MSRP and robbing Corvette enthusiasts should have their " dealership " revoked.

And just to add to that .... the ZR1 should go to people that will really enjoy and cherish it ... not to resellers that just want to make profit on the car or multi multi millionaire stealership owners that are after the same thing ...
Just my rant ... and of course we live in far from a perfect world ;)

LOL, more like the opposite with Chevrolet. Revoke the warranty of consumers selling their vehicles within 6 months, but not penalize dealers for selling above MSRP. As they say "Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price". Dealers can sell for more or less at the end of the day. IMO the ZR1 will be more "mass produced" than previous generation ZR1's and probably for 3-4 year cycle. The super high asking prices will reduce the buyers market and by the second year of production you will see them selling at MSRP.

How would GM do that, pretty hard to know who are collectors/drivers and who is a reseller ( aren't we all really ) not many of us keep our cars till they go to the scrapyard

Could not agree more ..... however thats what it would be like if our streets were lined with gold ... there was NEVER any traffic anywhere ... all beautiful women were mandated by law to walk around topless and we had a stable government in Ottawa ... wouldnt that be nice ? ;)
