2024 Corvette Build out

Denis, I did hear one story where a dealer did discount a new C8 that someone walked away from due to the price increase and new luxury tax compared to when he finalized his order. The dealer had kept the original deposit. I heard Markville GM had 3 unsold stock units sitting and a recent search of 2024 Corvettes on the GM database search showed a ton of them sitting unsold. With the spring price bump coming, I don't expect we will see cars selling for under msrp, but come late summer or early fall we might this year with the 2025's coming earlier than last year.

Hi Guys, Im waiting for my allocation still and the dealer thinks he will get one in the next March allocation. If I indeed get my order finalized next allocation, when would be a reasonable expectation for delivery. Could I still get it before the end of August? My dealer is in Stony Plain, just outside of Edmonton. Thanks for your comments.

There is no “next March allocation”. Stingray allocations are once per month, March allocations happened on March 7, with constraints for those allocations released on March 14 and orders must be submitted by March 18. So you are not getting a March allocation.

Next allocation is April 11 and most likely will be last for 2024 model year before 2025 price increase. Those cars would be built end of June so you would get it by end of Aug.

Spring price bump?
Hmm.. are they going up again for 2025? 😉

PK, Denis is right, unless your dealership has been told specifically by zone management that they have earned and will be getting a "bonus" allocation you will be waiting a few more weeks. Do you know that your next up for sure? Competition got 2 built in October and December which means 2 allocations in August and October but one was a Z06 which is a separate allocation as well. The good news is the shipping backlog will be cleared up by the time your car is built but you will still be waiting a month for it once it's built but you will get it before the end of August. If your dealer has been told about a bonus allocation it could come next Thursday so you now have an excuse to go see or call your dealer again.

Ok thanks you two. My dealer does believe there is a second March allocation he stated "I am hoping to see allocation in my March Cycle 2 Allocation (which should cover the weeks of March 28th and April 4th)." So maybe he does get one, but again he uses the word "hoping". So im starting to loose a little faith for this month. hopefully April will be my ticket.

Can GM dealers get cars from other dealers?
Yes, but the selling dealer loses credit for his allocation as allocations are keyed to customer sales.
Do they have to buy them first?
Usually or a trade for a truck etc.
Any Corvettes on dealer lots are almost certainly customer walkaways and then the dealer can sell it for any price.

Did he tell you if he got an allocation in March's Cycle 1? That's the Corvette allocation cycle. The second cycle is for other GM products. All dealers "hope" but if he didn't get one in the first cycle, I am over 90% sure he won't get one in the second cycle unless they have been told they are getting a bonus one.

No he said exactly what I told you. I am thinking now i will cancel this order and wait for the 2025 to come out. Not much of a driving season here in Canada from Aug. onward anyways

Can someone tell me what happens if my 2024 order is not allocated before the switch to 2025 model year. Do I just get switched over to the 2025 list or is the 2024 order cancelled and I go make a completely new 2025 order?

If your order has been entered but has not been accepted by GM (status 1100), it would be canceled and resubmitted as 2025, if your order is entered and accepted by GM (status 2000) the car will be built in the 2024 manufacturer year.

Lists don’t go by years, if you are next on the 2024 list, you would still retain your place on the list

Snow tires, available throughout Canada...

I heard Michelin has a promotion geared to next fall called " Do You Have The Ball's This Winter..." with a $100 rebate ..

Ha Yeah maybe if this was going to be an ERay. At this point with all the driving lights drama and backlog of Canadian cars now, since I don't have an allocation yet, I am going to pull the plug on a 2024. Even if I get allocation for April. I have no trust it will get here before fall. I am best to just order a 2025 in the fall to have something in my garage by next spring.
