No, I'm not deaf.
I hear you just fine, and you sound like a lot of other Z06 owners (not all), extolling the virtues of 'the noise'.
But that's all you've got, right, is 'the noise'?
Most of us drive in the city, or on the odd country road, where the E-Ray outperforms the Z06 in every aspect.
As for 'the noise', if I wanted a car that sounded like a Ferrari, I would have bought a Ferrari.
After you finish that unicorn 'juice' and step away from the comic book section, check out what the E-Ray is actually is all about.

You'll have to point me in the direction of those reviews, because that's not what I'm hearing.
If you regularly visit the track, as some do, then the obvious choice in the line-up is the Z06.
On the other hand, if you are looking for a high-performance, yet comfortable, sports car for 'normal' driving, as is the case for most, then the E-Ray is the way to go.
Yes, "to each their own".

I agree with redvette70. I had a c8 and got into the z06. My friend got his eray a few weeks ago and I have to admit that the sense of occasion when approaching a z06 and turning her on is significantly more visceral and enthralling than the Eray. Yes the eray is quicker and is the better daily driver for sure. The z06 is louder, unapologetic and more rambunctious, even more so than the ZR1 from what I hear. However most of the time these are second cars, and the z06, makes it a special event to drive and experience, moreso than the Eray IMO. I drive an EV as a daily and will forever get those for everyday use, hence the eray is the better daily and gt. But my vote having driven both, is Z06.

I agree with redvette70. I had a c8 and got into the z06. The other thing that is not being considered here is the generation gaps between the interest parties here. Minesh and Nader are in a different age category than we are.
Back in 1984 when the C4 came out, even though Motor Trend picked it as the Car of the Year, they went on to say the Z51 ride would make your kidneys bleed because it was so rough and I loved all three of my C4's including my ZR-1 but I was in my late twenties. Guys like Ron Fellows don't come out and say the best all around C8 is the E-Ray as it offers the biggest diversity of all the models available when it comes to driving the car every day like most owners do. I drove a Z06 and it reminded me of my C4 Z51 but it was smoother due to the mag ride but noticeable harsher (35%) than my Z51 Stingray with mag ride. When the Z06 was unveiled on Tues October 26, 2021 I thought it was a misprint seeing that the Z06 had less torque than my 2020 Stingray. The demographic of what is acceptable from a ride and comfort standpoint could be different for somebody in their 20's or 30's compared to someone in their 60's or 70's. I'm spoiled now and wouldn't want to go back to C4 ride unless I was going to the racetrack and then I set everything to track to get the fastest suspension settings. At one point I owned 3 Corvettes at the same time including a Z51 coupe, a convertible with the first version of mag ride in 2003 and my Z06 which I used on the track and had the titanium exhaust which sounded amazing.
The biggest complement Z06 owners speak about is the sound and if they are good with the ride that comes with it then using it as a daily driver works.

I'm trying to figure out now if I should feel glad for being mature enough to enjoy the 'comforts', or sad, in not being young enough to forgoe them in lieu of 'the noise'.
Whatever - once I get that ZR1 parked next to the E-Ray, I can drive according to my mood swings.

Here's a plan you can take to your buddies at G.M. and across the Dealerships to help reduce those inevitable line-ups, and cheer up the buyers across the entire line-up.
a) Lower the price on the Z06 and E-Ray by $10,000.00, but they must build 1 ZR1 for every 10 of the others (combined) that they produce.
b) Add an extra $100,000.00 onto the price of a ZR1 (you know they will sell as many as they can build anyhow).
c) Create a singular list for the ZR1, regulated by G.M., but sold through the Dealers, on a first-come, first-served basis, with a $25,000.00 non-refundable deposit.
I think the ZR1 would become available, no?

They'll likely be doled out by allocation numbers anyway. Large dealers get (more of) them.

The extra $100,000 your referring to will be the dealers market adjustment in the US. GM is not big on lowering prices but I hope GM Canada will realize the new exchange rates killed the market up here and that is why there is no demand for the Stingrays now. The ZR1 is regulated by GM as they determine who is going to get one. Each dealer is responsible for determining lists and deposits that apply to them. A 25K non refundable deposit would reduce the number on the lists and would move things along faster when the car does become available.

I offered the dealership original sticker for this Z06, $199,808 + tax …. All cash … $229,780.00

They were quick to get to me when I expressed interest …. However they haven’t even had the courtesy of replying to my offer … I did email them the offer as I’m far too busy to be dickering on the phone with a used car salesman, but it was a swift response to them emailing me. Honestly half expected the dealer principal to call me today. How often does a one Z06 allocation chev dealer sell a $200,000+ car? I like to do things swiftly, but my offers expiry timer has passed.

Must be nice to be a Vette dealer this day in age.

All good, there are lots of options today and I know coming. In the meantime I love the hell out of my Stingray. Never panicked about what’s next, too many options.
