You bet ! I watch this again every couple of years. I don’t think that most people realize that they are 4/5 Canadian !
The Band was a Canadian-American rock group formed in Toronto, Ontario, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It consisted of four Canadians—Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, and Richard Manuel—and one American, Levon Helm from Arkansas. They started as the backing band for Ronnie Hawkins and later Bob Dylan before becoming a standalone group in 1968. Their music blended country, folk, blues, and rock, and they are considered pioneers of roots rock and Americana. So, while not exclusively Canadian, the majority of the members were Canadian, making The Band a Canadian-American group.
Another great Canadian band. And a great film with the great Dennis Hopper who wrote and directed . True classic. And of course Jack . Pretty great all around. Every time I watch it I can’t help but think about Albert Hofmann , lol .
