Why all the 1LZ's for 2026 Z06's?

I've been window shopping for a 2026 Z06, but I am curious about all the 1LZ spec Z06's I'm seeing at dealers. Is it really that common for people to not go with an upgraded interior when they're spending at those levels? I tried looking for a 3LZ, but they're relatively rare. Is it a matter of trying to keep the costs relatively low? A nicely spec'd 2026 Z06 is pushing $220K, so I understand wanting to save some cash and try to keep it under $200K.

Also, I can't believe that 2026 Z06's are going for over $220K. A $100K difference seems a bit crazy to me and that's without the carbon fiber wheels, ZR1 package, etc. I was thinking of upgrading my 2023, but wow, that's a lot of cash to put out for an upgrade.

I suspect that "spec" units brought onto the lot by dealers are kept at lower trim levels to attract buyers that can't afford or don't want a loaded vehicle. They are interested in volume, quick sales . The difference in price between a 1LZ no option unit and a loaded 3LZ is considerable.

Here is an example and if you look at a 1LZ the difference is even greater. You could be talking about a 50 or 60 thousand difference. They do have a ZR1 and a ZR1X in stock as well it seems.....

most of the 1LZ cars are dealer orders for stock and not customer orders

Dealers have been ordering 1LT's as with only 2k in options they are running $159K for a coupe and $169K for a HTC. Then you have to add $12-14K in luxury tax and then the HST. The current promotion on remaining 2025 Z06's takes care of the luxury tax but you still are stepping up $40-60K from a loaded Stingray to a very base Z06 and $100K for a 3LZ Z06 with options. The carbon fiber wheels, Z07 and ground effects package adds $37k last time I checked. If your a track person and want to go to the track often, you could justify the upgrade or if it's the sound you want, if not wait a few months for the Grand Sport and you will be much happier with the cost to upgrade.

Without the price point of the 1LZ and good deal ( imo) on my Z06, I wouldn't be able to get one at
$200k or over. Thank you dealer for ordering the 1LZ for budget buyer such as myself. Lol..
I hope the GS is affordable but it may well be starting at $130k? The Stingray will get a price increase with the LS6. We will soon find out. If they make a GSX, it will be more than the Z06 as has been debated base on that it will make 40-50hp over the Z06. All rumors of course. Seems logical.

I’m mainly interested in the engine. The upgraded interior and new colors factor into it as well. As you say though, that’s a lot of cash for the sweet engine upgrade!

You started this thread as a window shopper. Are you willing to pay $60K to $100K for that sound to upgrade? There is a lot of Z06 inventory sitting unsold across the country, hence the 15K discount this month on 2025's (which essentially just offsets the luxury tax) but you prefer the new interior. Now you have to decide if you want to stay a window shopper or not? Perhaps waiting to see what happens with the programs on the unsold 2026's is your best option if you want the new interior. Production of the 2026's ends on May 29th. The first 2027's will come off the production line on Mon June 1st.

Yeah, I think that's the answer. I think it's a bit of a wait for me yet. Plus the Grand Sport may actually be the sweet spot for me if some of the information coming out it correct.

Really I was just looking to learn more from everyone on the forums as I start to consider an upgrade.

That's why I mentioned in my first post. The Grand Sport will be an appealing option for those not wanting to pay the price of a Z06 to upgrade to a wide body.
