What dealer to buy a 2021 C8 in Southern Ontario

Please keep in mind that this is my personal opinion, but I think that there is way to much stock put into that question because allocation numbers can grow and shirk during a model year, especially when we are still smack-dap in the middle of a pandemic.

Knowing what I know from sitting on the other side of the desk the question I would ask is - " Can you get me the car and if I place my deposit today, what is a realistic turn around period for delivery?

Just my thought's

I really do appreciate your response, but that is the answer we get from all dealers. I know you don't want to release your numbers in an open forum and I understand why, but if a customer asked where they are on your list, would you give them an honest answer? We all know that people drop off the list and it is a relative number, but from the customers point of view that is his most important information. It's the lack of information that drives us all crazy. We see it constantly on all the forums and it's mostly GM's fault.
They really only want to know a realistic time line. They can wait as long as required if they have some idea.

I hear you and think it's more than fair to want a straight forward answer.

So here is mine, if you place your deposit with me today and provided production levels stay the same and COVID doesn't shut down the world again, I think you should have your new C8 parked in your driveway within 10-months.

How's that?

Sounds good Jeff, so July 2021 for delivery?

Your answer seems to be in line from what I’ve heard from Andrew at Bill Spencer. Murray is right when he says we just want an honest answer from the dealer. I changed my order from another dealer to Spencer’s because the first dealer was simply being untruthful with me about my order delivery date. I discovered this and pulled my order and gave it to Spencer. It really bothers me when dealers over book orders like airlines overbook flights. We are excited to get our new C8. We want to be treated with respect and not get intentionally misled by dealer salesman who know full well they are unlikely to be able to fill the order because they likely don’t have the factory allocation to do so based on last years sales. We are spending In some cases upwards of $100,000. Because of a few bad salesman, many dealers get a bad rap. And I agree, GM Canada is not helping by being so late in publishing 2021 C8 prices after US prices are already out. And why is 2021 C8 allocation taking so long? Certainly GM has some idea of how to allocate production!

I went to WN in August and was told I would be 157th on the list and realistically it would be a year and a half. I put my deposit down in August 2019 at a smaller dealer and I just had my initial order done last week and was told this month or next the final order will be put in and I will be in line to be built. I have changed my mind 100 times with options and colours so I just want it to be final and start the build for spring delivery. I thought I would have had it by now and sold my C6. Here is hoping no more delays.
Torch red, 2lt with adrenaline red interior, front lift, mag ride and performance exhaust.

Your car sounds eerily familiar. ;)
I was 87th on the list at Cullen late July 2019 and I received my car a month ago. It has been a crap shoot with all the issues and it being in such high demand.
Dealers are expecting their 2021 allocation estimates next month and their first round allocations likely in November. so timing sounds about right.

I hope you are enjoying the car. The reason I did not go with the Z51 package is because of the tires basically. I am retired and have a place down south so mine does not get stored. It is driven year round. In South Carolina the temperature can be cold so they are not the tires to have. I highly doubt it will ever see the track but will see a lot of spirited driving in the mountains of West Virginia. I will put 25-30k on it yearly. Love to travel and I hear the C8 is more comfortable than the C6 so I am so looking forward to it.

I’ll share my 2021 ordering story with you folks.
I’m in Windsor, so when the time finally came to order my C8 I called one of our local dealerships, a good friend from high school has worked there for years. He told me straight up, 2-3 years based on there current list and allocation. I called two more local Chevy dealers, got the same story. At this point, I had no knowledge of this form so I searched and came across Wilson Niblet, spoke to Jeff a couple of times. He explained that if put a deposit down now (June) I should be able to get it next year June-sept not knowing what the pandemic will hold. With that I placed a deposit with Jeff, and to date has been a wonderful experience. He is quick to respond to my questions and accommodating to several build changes. I’m sure spencer and Cullen are great along with many others, but I have no regrets with WN and Jeff. Now let’s all cross our fingers that BG keeps pumping C8s off the assembly line.

Just watch yourself in those West Virginia mountains... lots of places for the the coppers to hide. I've been nabbed their before and they don't give warnings... just tickets. The only good thing was West Virginia does not share records with Ontario so it went unnoticed here.

+1
10 of us rode (supersport bikes) to the Gap.
Going thru WV one day. Posted 35mph.
One of their finest said we were going triple the limit, when they finally got 5 of the bikes pulled over. (5 kept running)
Only 1 ticket was issued, to the rider who parked closest to the leo's. $775 for speeding 105mph in a 35 zone. Normally that would be jail time.
As Sparro mentioned.....no reciprocity between WV and Ontario.
