Good morning xlr8r,

No, sadly the weather and time of year have conspired against me on that project. It will always be a bit of a disappointment that I was not able to drive the car home to meet folsk like Riley on the way home.

But for you there may be options. At some point, I hope shortly after I return from Ontario, the car will get loaded back onto the train and shipped to Edmonton where I will go to get it. It will again be a tricky juggling job and weather dependent as I am sure at SOME point this spring the weather will be nice enough to allow us to do some seeding and to get the crop in. So I am thinking that there will be a pretty rushed trip to Edmonton to get the Z06 and then return home.

I'm not actually sure if I will drive it from Edmonton home or if I will trailer it again........at least this time if I rent an enclosed trailer again I ought to have an easier time fitting through the window inside the car when it is in the trailer!!!!!!

The weather is looking awesome for Cambridge Sun/Mon coming up too!!

it can't be that nice already, is it? i could get mine out of the garage, but probably wouldn't be able to get it over the ice ruts and back in after.

Almost time folks -- Garry's plane lands about now and we will be at Manny's until about 6:30. Come visit if you wish or meet us at MooseWinooski's off SportsWorld Drive at 7. From King turn left(west) at first traffic lights (on Sportsworld) and the M/W's entrance is up a few hundred yards on left.

.........Garry made it safely from all the way out in northern Alberta near Grimshaw just west of Peace River. Welcome Garry! So nice to have you visit and to share your excitement of the modded Z06.
Kudos to Wayne and Brian for bringing Garry up from Hamilton airport to Manny's in Breslau -- Apologies to them for the lousy roads in Cambridge -- :rolleyes: -- What can I say: We look pretty but some of our roads need attention.:confused:

Garry was very excited to see and sit in and finally drive his recently modded V/Yellow Z-car that had been patiently waiting for him since late last year. That must have felt so good for them to be reacquainted. His smiles said it all....We were all very happy for him to have his baby back again if only for a few days.


Pics of his arrival at Manny's, his reintroduction to his beauty ride, and our celebration for him at Moose Winooski's in Kitchener this evening.

Great to be all together and chat. Along with Garry we also met Antony (Tony) - Laticsfan -- whom we hadn't had the pleasure until now. Welcome again to the forum and of course congrats on your new (C6) addition, Tony. Can't wait to see it and cruise with you.

We had a great turnout: Steve and his wife, Steve is the painter/body work specialist at his shop in Dasilva Motorsports in Breslau, Terry and his son Wes from Woodstock, (Woodstock Car Guy), Antony (Laticsfan), Brian from Calendonia, Justin (LSXtasy), Dave head mechanic at Dasilva Motorsports and his daughter, Rob - mechanic from Dasilva Motorsports, Andrew (apprentice mechanic at Dasilva Motorsports), Wayne (Ford Prefect from Ancaster), the man of the hour Garry, (VelocityYellowRules! -- and, um, I've missed someone -- oh yeah Manny....:rofl:

Great to see pictures of the gang Colin.....it's been a longtime since i seen a picture of the "moose" at Winooski's...as i did seven years of schooling at U of W. Congrats to Garry on his reunion!

Hey Adam -- thanks it was fun and nice to see Garry finally after all these months of chatter and planning and such......It must have been hard being apart from the vette for so long......It was great to see the smiles....:D

Adam you probably remember M/Winooski's when it was first built as part of SportsWorld Park way back in the '80's . M/W's is the only surviving part of SportsWorld park now and the area has completely transformed into a twin pad arena and shopping and medical complex. You wouldn't recognize it.

Garry turned in early -- long day, but Manny did 'demonstrate' the car as well as he could in the rain ..... and then Garry drove it to his hotel , late and while raining and only for a short distance from M/W's to the 4 Points hotel. (maybe 2 clicks).

He'll get a feel for it once it dries up and warms a little. It sounded great while we followed along with them on the way to supper.

Hope so too Justin -- We going to Mud street again on Wednesday if you can make it. -- great relaxing drive in the morning then Tim's for 1 to 2 hours and a leisurely 50 minute drive home again.
Would be nice to have you cruise down with us.

Other than that let me know when you're free and we can do a more local Tim's . Weather looks more favourable Tuesday/Wednesday and considerably warmer.......THAT I LIKE! :D

It was great to meet you guys and have a chat about cars. Now I can put faces to names. Hope the weather brightens up so Gary can truly experience his car before he has to leave. I am hoping to get out on a cruise with some of you soon too. I was out in Dundas on Saturday and saw a nice red C4 and waved. The driver waved back. It was a Zen moment for me. I feel I belong now!
 
Thanks for sharing Colin..........the pics are great and it looks like everyone is enjoying this special event.......I'm sure Garry will be wearing that smile his entire visit.
