UAW Calls for 2 week shutdown of auto plants

In discussion here at my dealer, yes the 2021's are going to be more expensive by a good margin. Having said that, anyone with an existing order now that is in the workbench system, not simply on a dealer wait list will likely have pricing held. New M/Y orders will be subject to 2021 pricing structure. This is just a working theory by us armchair GM CEO's... I would not cancel my order. Can't help any delays given the year this has been. Keep Calm....

Toyota just shut down today. Talked to my buddy who works there and they are shut down till April 6th. They had an infected worker at the Cambridge plant and one of the guys who was in contact with him wanted to go home. Toyota told him he could but would have to use holidays. So he went on the news to tell the world that money was more important than lives at Toyota. Guess some of the suits saw the interview and within a few hours they told everyone to wind it down. It would have made them look bad if the other big three shut down and they didn't.

The damage is done ... no different to the Calgary Flames No Pay Layoff which was also followed up with a retraction. Hard lesson being “The action in a moment’s time may take forever to be forgiven”. But then again .... What’s a Toyota ? 😇

Bought a Toyota many years ago. Will never buy another Toyota again. It was a death trap. Literally. Brand new and the cruise control kept getting stuck on and I couldn't get it off unless I put the car in neutral. Took it back to the dealership and they wouldn't believe me and said I had my foot on the gas. Seriously? Got rid of the car ASAP at a loss and bought a Honda. Then several months later people were getting killed by guess what? Stuck cruise controls. They even tried to blame the floor mats before they finally agreed to recall all the cars affected. That did it for me. Again they cared more about money than lives. My mini rant. LOL.

Likely a somewhat substantial difference in wages and the ability to go home without pay from a Calgary Flame earning up to 7+ Mil per year to a Toyota assembly plant worker I would think... But that being said, what is fair for one should be fair for all.

Auto workers are paid through times like this. With supplemental unemployment bennies, and pogi, it's close to 90% of a 40hr /wk paycheck.
