If you drive down south any, no tint is better for your nerves!

If you get pulled over and have enough tint that the view inside is obscured be prepared to have a drawn pistol greeting you. If there is two officers usually the drawn pistol is standing at the rear on the shoulder, and the officer approaching then only has his hand on his holstered gun. It's happened to me a few times, even without tint, but the tint makes them more weary.

So since my wife is from Kentucky and we go down quite bit, I'll be going with no tint.

What are you doing to get pulled over and make the officers suspicious? :D

Also, would it be possible to put the window down or do you think that would cause even more alarm?
The thing I don't get about officers being all paranoid about tint only on the driver's window is that they want to see if the driver has a gun or not. Well, what about the guy in the back seat holding a shotgun? Why aren't they concerned about tint, period then?

The reason I was told, that with a film on the window, the Police could not shatter the side window with their baton in order to rescue You from the Vehicle.

My observation on any accident scene, it is generally the Fire Fighters or Ambulance crews that extract the Victims from a crash.

So could it be a revenue generation problem, they cannot see if you have a seat belt on?

I'm thinking that it's more for their safety. Without tints they can see what you're doing inside the car (ie) trying to hide something or reaching for a gun, etc.).

Yes, when a car is tinted out it makes them very uneasy, since they just do not know what is going on in the car and what is going to greet them.

What I've been told best thing to do when pulled over, don't go reaching around car or into glove box before the officer approaches. Have the driver window down well before he approaches and hands on the wheel. Just gives them a bit of reassurance, then when asked for drivers license and insurance do so slowly especially if your reaching in globe box or some where slightly out of view. All this makes common sense.

Most of the police I know are not out looking to harass, they have better things to do now then give seat belt tickets, like texting!
