This picture combines a couple of my hobbies....

Hmmmmm.... saw a lot of reel to reels but didn't see one in either of your Vettes Graham.... Careful though...feeling for the rewind button may just get you a distracted driving infraction.....

Also pretty difficult to change and thread a reel to reel tape while driving.

Look what I found today..
‘HOT ROD CARAVAN’
Sounds of the big drag races and Bonneville runs in 1964.

This should be fun!

Good eye and great find Graham. Over the years you have certainly been in the right place to score some classic audio... both hardware and software.... (Guess they hadn't invented the word software when vinyl was the norm...) Or in '65 was this one wax impregnated paper.... ;))

... you just sparked a flashback for me ...
It was a question in my studies with an answer that is still etched
on the inside wall of my thick skull for an exam I had in Tech School.
I believe Fortran (known then as Formac) came to life in 1962.
Text-string languages, however, were being developed in the 50's ...
There being no internet ... the public had no idea what was to come
... as there was even a couple of video games back then too ... :Wideyed:

I actually found "formula manipulation" (formac/fortran) rather
fascinating in creating a path with intent for a desired result ...
Those who also remember doing this may recall formulating a
"random number generator" that would not repeat a sequence. :bucktooth:

in my leisure time though ... it was vinyl records ...
my first being "American Pie" on 45
... there ... thread back on the rail again ... :joyful:

Today I’m watching the recent Sonoma NASCAR race and spending the afternoon cleaning records.
I recently acquired a 700+ record collection and that included 200 45s. I’m using my SPIN-CLEAN, dry with a towel then a few minutes spinning in the VAC-O-REC dryers..
They are coming out really clean.
Thanx for looking.
