I had a hiccup today in the project, apparently the HydroCal Gypsum I bought wont release from packing tape, so I am glad I asked before I opened the bag and made a batch, possibly ruining my frame. So I am going to Burnaby to get the 25 lb expanding foam...try again tomorrow or weekend.

It was a late night lay up. Another layer of resin I think, and its time for the "Moment of truth" and see if I burgered my top with the heat from the Smooth-On foam I used. It got hot.

I think I needed like 3 of these to fill this void. It got over 100 F during reaction. I got worried I was going to be looking at something that resembled a bacon rind in the end!

I reviewed the video, and temp got up to 145 Fahrenheit. I couldn't upload the videos as they were too big. I wish we all had that problem lol.

Its wet with water, Incase your wondering about the blemishes on top. It gives a preview of how its going to look clear coated.

Thanks! I just added another 8oz of surfboard resin to be on the safe side. Clear coat tommorow.

Heres a fast photo before I do final trim/edge sealer and framework. Final wax not done yet nor final cut. I just overlaid the new top, over the existing lens for the picture.
