Surprise June Allocations!

apparently I am flagged by GM as an exporter as I sold my 2020 vette to a used car dealership. Car is still in Ontario and staying in Ontario. I purchased the 2020 new of the lot (lucked out) last August. I loved the car but wanted some different options and colour so ordered a new one in May to have exactly what I wanted. Maybe time for a different brand!

Yup because you likely sold before the 12,000km and 1-year resale restriction in place by GM (both have to be met). The car doesn't need to be exported, can still reside in Canada but if you sold before both of those parameters above then yes, Blacklisted on all GM products.

I was told that only applies if it leaves Canada. As well I wrote a letter to let GM know why I sold it and with proof I am not an exporter or reseller. The car is still in Ontario and is not leaving as well.

Just got an email from Spencer's & turns out they got an additional 10 (surprise) allocations for the 2021 model year, so Christmas probably came early for some forum members. I didn't make the cut for 2021 but should (hopefully) be in the first or second batch of 2022s. Wonder if any other dealers got surprise allocations?

Good news for me as I am 8 on the list at Carters here. They sold 20+ or so last year. Put my order in unpriced. Was told me it could go it to GM before pricing is in- who the hell knows - LOL. I did see a 2021 at my dealer last week with my color - rapid blue - looks wild in person - really like. Had black interior which is the way I am going. Thanks for the update!!

Yep, TPW next week, hoping it gets to Alberta by the end of September so I can get a month in before winter. So jealous that Ontario gets them delivered less than 2 weeks after build.

My buddy got a call from his dealer and told him he moved up from #8 to #1 as they got seven “unexpected” allotments

Ok going to blow the lid of the forum my C8 was one of the surprise June allocations, it was built on August 12th
and my dealer tells me it is now on a transport truck in British Columbia. Apparently it was shipped by truck from Bowling Green!
Bowling Green to BC in 15 days. That's got to be some new record !

Did your dealer ever provide you with a status code? I'd be interested to know how it is coded.

Nope my sales guy just called and said it’s on a Transport in Kamloops will arrive today or tomorrow! The inventory managers said it was at the factory Wednesday…..one of them will be right!

I'm hoping that is the case with mine! I hope it just shows up at the dealership and someone forgot to refresh their screen!! I wonder if the westbound vehicles are still being shipped by rail, or they are shipping by truck now?

There were rumors of that the cars to the west were going by truck! If mine lands tomorrow than I expect it is true.
When was your car built ? You are in Alberta ?

Yes, in Alberta, car is ordered out of Calgary. Was built on July 26th. According to the dealer it has been status 4150 since August 10th, which seems kinda weird! A C8 arrived at the same dealership last week and it was built the day after mine on July 27th.

I am just hoping that my sales guy didn't get it wrong but will confirm once I see it. As it appears to be good to be true.
But I am keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe GM got tired of waiting for railcars, and hopefully yours is not caught up in the change over. In any event will keep all posted !
