Hi Guys,

I am not sure if it's normal or what but starting my corvette when cold take lots of pumping the gas pedal before it starts. Is that normal? How many pumps to the gas does your C3 Corvette needs in order to start? Do I need to start looking at the carburetor for issues? I have the L82 engine.. In the factory manual it states that on a cold start that usually you press the pedal once and slowly retract the pedal and it should start if not try again...

My car needs at least 8 - 9 times of pumping the gas petal before it starts.. hope it's normal..

What about the choke? I guess that would be more of a running issue when cold as opposed to starting however, my Chevelle would take a good 5 pumps to fire but it's not a stock engine.
