Snow

It looks like it's been melting in Edmonton for a couple days now--and yesterday we had some nice rain--not enough to clean the roads, but definantly enough to expedite the melting of all this snow.

Looks like we're getting ONtario's weather and vice-versa........

Won't be long now, but as of today, I am happy being out west, LOL. Things seem downright nasty over in Ontario right now.

Now it's snowing ....... temps cooled enough to turn the rain/freezing rain into snow ------ We seem to be right on the edge of the storm/warm/cold front.
Not the best place to be......

It won't make for a very good commute home so I hope everyone is safe while they battle this crap.

Tonight more of the same only no freezing rain forecast .. fingers crossed.
Marg's out in the crap right now and I'm kinda nervous about it.:(

still just overcast here, 34f. - no snow, rain, or anything, the radar shows freezing rain to start here about 8 tonight. glad everything held off as today is my mom's 97th birthday and we took her a nice swiss chalet lunch.

Happy Birthday to your Mum! :seeya:

Rain most of day, freezing on the side of the Blue Boxes but not on the ground. Most of the drama seems to have been with the media.

Some slippery back roads around here but nothing major. The media, police and fire service want to err on the side of caution and to jolt people awake and be alert for their ride home from work.
According to meteorologists that I've listened to it may or may not get worse later and into tomorrow.........here at least......so beware folks...stay focused.
We're not out of the woods yet. Hell! we're not even out of winter yet.

Got off work at 7pm. Freezing rain on the drive home. Long range for next week is snow for next Friday! :swear:

beware.......... that light at the end of the tunnel may be an oncoming train.

"Here come da train" ....... bad conditions all over this area and into Toronto. Not sure about north country but suspect it's bad up there too.:(

"Stay home if you can" is the suggestion this morning.

Be safe/

Woke up to another coating of snow on everything as well as freezing rain. Power outages around us, schools closed, buses cancelled. I'm really getting tired of this. On top of that I think I'm getting a cold. :swear:

Got to get ready for work. :(

Just a bit of freezing rain here but it was enough to do in our old cherry tree. It was due to come down anyway so the job just moved up a little on the to do list. From the looks of all the rainy weather in the forecast the car won't be out before at least next weekend. On the good side, there appears to be lots of rain coming to get rid of the salt.

Ugg, Greg, all considering I hope you stayed home. It's what they're telling us around here.

Hope you're feeling better soon too.

We were lucky with the temps nothing but rain here, lost some branches on a birch but so far the power hasn't gone off.

Wow Wayne, only about 30 clicks away and we've gotten hit hard here with power outages all night -- (furnace came on thankfully sometime during the night) -- sleet, rain, freezing rain (and a lot of it), and winds........all this with temps around freezing or just below.

Marg has gone out now to her clients but only after waiting a few hours for things to improve somewhat.

Temp is now a degree or 2 above freezing but not really having much effect on the ice. It's soft but it's hanging on and I can imagine some area still sheer ice.

The rest of the storm will pass during today but promises something less severe.
be safe,
Colin.

Our cherry tree is not in the best of condition -- it has a split down the middle of its trunk. This ice could finish it off. I hope not -- I'm rather attached to it having planted it in 1985 and eaten its fruit every year since.:(

The rest of this storm -- this afternoon at least should yield rain only and lots of it before passing to the east. -- Yes there's need of another 'salt cleanup'.

Be safe

LOL yeah Riley -- "to hell with the spring, we're spending summer in the snow.........." -- just might turn out like that ....
