Rogers and SPEED Channel

Apparently the Shaw/Speed contract is up later this year... We'll see whether Shaw drops it as well..
Could your buddy make some BETA copies of the NASCAR coverage and send them to me?? LOL

I'm so angry with this! Looks like I'll be buying an Android box sooner than expected!

Can you tell me what this device is? What, if any, are the options to dump cable/satellite altogether? I think the phone line will be first followed by TV, the cost has become outrageous. TV alone costs us $134.00 a month to watch so few quality shows. Funny that do not believe they owe us anything for cancelling Speed. May end up costing them a lot.

Hey Black, it's a device that will stream basically everything! A few guys at work have them and swear by them. Spend the money and get a good one. Usually $130-$150 will get you a good one (with some HD channels, obviously it's if that channel is HD to begin with). Look for a minimum of a dual core processor, better picture and reliability. It's a pay once deal, so for say $150 vs a total bill from Rogers of $300 or more a month....it's worth it. I have heard that there is a bit a learning curve using it (just getting used to the menus and remote, etc.) I'm tired of getting hosed, and then qhen they delete one of the only channels I truly enjoy....RAGE! Hope this helps you and other members out. You can find them on Kijiji. Good luck and let us know if you get one and I'll post if I get one.
Cheers.

Thanks so much for the information, I am an analog guy living in a digital world. I really struggle with all this electronic stuff that seems to change each time I look at it.

Your overview helps a lot. Appreciated.

Hey, no problem. It's hard keeping up with technology.
Another thing you can do is buy an adapter for your cell phone (or tablet). We are mostly a Samsung household here, so we use the Rocketfish adapter ($15 at Futureshop), which allows you to plug your HDMI cable from your TV into your phone. I've been catching up on the Tudor Endurance races that way via YouTube. They make one for iPhone as well. If you are a Samsung household like us, you can buy the WAN adapter for your Samsung TV and stream things wirelessly. Pretty slick, but not at the same level as the Android box.

I guess everyone has discovered that there are now FIVE(5) TSN channels on TV !!! I use TELUS as my supplier. Can anyone tell me if SHAW or ROGERS or BELL satellite feeds are doing the same?
I am this moment watching NASCAR practice at Richmond, VA on TSN2 .
I'm guessing that TSN is picking up some of the FOX Sports1 feed from the USA...?
I suppose SPEED channel will disappear...?
Bring on the chase! ..... Graham

This all reminds me why we shut down all forms of TV here a few years ago. If we can't get it on the internet, then we won't be bothered with it.

Yep...watching that race right now live on TSN-2 ...

Same service as you with TSN-1 to 5 .. from Rogers here in southern Ontario.

I'm hoping one of them will have the next Barrett Jackson Auction from Vegas. No sign of the last one from West Palm.

Speed ch. has been gone from here since early in the year.

C.

I hope that TSN1,2,3,4 or 5 picks up the shows that used to be on SPEED.
My PVR is recording the Nationwide race so I can go cruising tonite.
Big 1300 car show happening tomorrow.
