As per suggestion from @smackYYZ we've added a new sub-navigation item called Recent Posts for all registered users. This appears next to New Posts.
The difference between the two:
1. New Posts only shows threads that have posts that you have NOT read.
2. Recent Posts - pulls list of all threads in descending order irrespective of whether you've read all posts in them or not (normally this is only available for non-logged in users)
