Tuesday past I had the opportunity to take part in a small private showing of Merv Pidherneys who built a large civil construction, oil field construction and concete company here in Alberta from one single axle gravel truck some 40 odd years ago. Merv has been collecting cars for a long time and every few years he needs to keep expanding his collection shop. Merv had told me of his collection many years ago where I met him at a social function and I thought my chance to actually get an invitation was gone when I retired from the engineering firm that was responsible for our meeting.
I took a number of pictures and will show some of them here. He has 36 cars at the moment, most very rare limited production models, most with very very few miles on them. All of them in either immaculate original condition or ground up stored to original. He drives some of them but only very occasionally, mostly to fund raising charity events or in local parades. He recited the history of each car, where he purchased it, the mileage, and in many cases the number of them that were made. His shop is also decorated with many antiques. Mostly oil and gas but some other items which made me drool. Especially a guitar signed by Johnny Cash and another signed by Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis. Here's a look. Excuse my poor photography ability.

Those are some fantastic looking vehicles.

On my trek across Canada … Flying J fuel stops and seeing a few “C8 Storks” … one yesterday with 5 “babies” and this one today just outside Winnipeg with 2 … all heading West.

Why is my 45ft haul looking so small in all my photos so far? 😂 … some may find it easy guessing where I am today 😂

Lol... There is several giant geese in Canada but given your road report I'm thinking you've made it past most of them.... unless you have stopped in Hanna for a week....

Noticing the consistency of the sad state of supply with empty GM Dealerships as I travel across the Country.
Using every/any tactic to get a customer to stop in.

A local Chevy dealership salesman said that they have some clean newer cars and trucks across the front of their lot, just to attract customers in off the street. There seems to be a shortage of parts, especially computer chips to build vehicles. That's what we get when we buy too much from China. They own us now.

I think you hit the right timing for the Autumn leaves Spence.
The autumn foliage is definitely here. Our weather wasn’t as great with rain and spray from the road. Then noticed an oily film on the whole truck that we are gonna have to clean off … yuck … but the landscape colors are awesome … our airbnb in about 200 years old and the street is nothing but a canopy of trees … my truck is getting bombed by nuts … nuts ! Here is this crap i gotta get off that changes my black truck to a smokey grey … yuck 😡👎🏻
